Hi Julia,

I was just wondering are we already allocated seats when using British Airways or can we preselect online?

Im going on the 22nd July Lake Garda trip.

Thanks

Mark

Hi Mark,

It appears you can pre select your own seat and you should be able to check in online.

I will send you an email with your PNR details.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Hi Mark,

You just need to go to the main BA website here: www.britishairways.com

Click on the 'Manage by booking' tab then under 'Online check-in' the booking reference type the PNR and then after you've typed in your surname you should be able to select your seats free of charge.

You will only be able to do this 24 hours before departure.

Thanks

Julia

Hi Julia,

When I paid my balance for New England in the fall last week, I was given a PNR to prebook my business class seats. Unfortunately, it seems to be the one for the main booking which is only valid 24 hours before departure. I believe I should be able to prebook my business seats earlier than that. Can you look into it please. I have never flown BA with JY before, but when I have upgraded on your holidays at the time of booking, I have always been able to prebook my seat with other airlines.

Hi,

SarahS - As you have upgraded, you are on a separate booking to the group. I have sent you an email with your PNR, please let me know that you receive this OK.

Mark - sadly not, different airlines have different times and with BA it is 24hours before departure.

Kindest regards,

Julia

I have upgraded to Business Class on my return flights for the National Parks & Mt Rushmore trip leaving 9th Sept but similarly have not been able to select my seats yet. Do I need additional information to do so?

Hi Suejj

Your ticket has not yet been issued so you would be unable to select your seats at the moment.

I understand however that this should be done in the next week. Once the ticket has been issued, you will be able to go online, check in and request your seat.

Kindest regards,

Julia

I am on the same trip a week later than Suejj and have upgraded to World Traveller Plus and was able to prebook my seats at an additional cost some weeks ago, so not sure why she isn't able to. I had paid JY for the upgrade and was given a pin code by them to go on to the BA website and have received confirmation of the seats I have requested. So hope Suejj can sort it out.

Good luck to Mark in prebooking his seat. When I tried for the Italy & Croatia trip I got a message saying that I could not do it because it was a group booking! The flights were with BA.

Jaya

Julia,

thanks for the information. I haven't replied before as I have been away. I am still unable to book my seat, as I paid my balance some weeks ago. I would have expected the ticket to have been issued by now. Can you investigate please.

Hi cj1

On this trip you are travelling on the group allocation, sadly we are unable to provide a PNR for you to check in online.

Kindest regards,

Julia
