Hi Jen,
During August and September we expect that you'll experience both warm and cold weather on this trip (highs of 17-18 degrees and lows of about 1-2 degrees) so you'll need to pack a variety of clothing and layering would certainly be the best option. Whilst you are not travelling in the rainy season you may still experience some showers so I'd also recommend that you pack some waterproof clothing.
