Hi Julia

My tour later this month gives me access to the Servisair lounge at Heathrow Terminal 3.

What are the benefits etc of the lounge as I am sure there must be some and is it near the gate of departure?

I am sure other fellow travellers would like to know.

Many thanks

Malcolm

Hi Malcolm,

The airport lounge is a nice environment to meet some of your fellow travellers away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the airport. There are also complimentary drinks and snacks available.

It's a really nice way to relax before you fly.

Kindest regards,

Julia

Just to back up what Julia says - the lounge is a great way to meet up with your group. It is very difficult to try and spot the luggage tags in the departure area with all the shops and restaurants as well as many different seating areas. Also, the comfortable seats, unlimited free drinks, snacks and newspapers are a bonus. There are toilets within the lounge which means you don't have a trek miles when you need to go!

It makes a very nice start to the holiday.

am a little dissapointed there are no exceutive lounges at terminal 5 when we go to australia especially when it says so in the itinerary as down to change of carrier ( yes might have known british airways would give you nothing ) and change of terminal, you would have thought they'd have some there by now so looks like its find JY tags at check in for us, it would have been a nice informal chance to meet others though i would have had no more than 2 pints before the flight free or not

I used the Heathrow terminal 1 lounge earlier this year. The pass said amaximum of three hours in the lounge, fair enough. But on arrival I was refused entry and told I could only be admitted within three hours of the flight time.

Most lounges only allow a maximum if 3 hours this is because Even with a long haul flight you book in 3 hours before so there for there is no need to be there any earlier....they are not taking into account of people's personal journeys...also some people would drink it dry given more time !!!!!!!....I have to be at LGW earlier than needed on Thursday to fit in with rush hour traffic and hitching a lift, so I will have time to kill before my 3 hour limit starts but that's not a problem I love to people watch...

If the lounges did not restrict on the time then there would be problems as they would have too many people and not enough space. Also, I totally agree with Cindy about some people drinking it dry! I personally just like to relax in a nice atrmosphere and usually stick to drinking water and perhaps have a small snack like a muffin. I never eat and drink too much even if it is free!
