Recieved the Xmas brochure today and must say I'm a little dissapointed.

Last year I did the Costa Brava holiday which i fully enjoyed, its the first time I'd been away over both Christmas and New Year and was planning to do the same.

I'll add I'm not looking to go further afield than Europe at this time of year and looking at the brochure there are only two holidays that cover both Xmas and NY.

One is the Costa Brava I did last xmas, the other is Italian dolomites & Croatia and I've done the Croatia bit with travelsphere.

Last years holiday was full subscribed and I'd imagine there are others from last year that like to cover the full holiday period that are just a little dissapointed with the lack of choice.

If you are going to have so few european hols covering the full period I'm sure it would be an idea to at least do different places.

Seems a surplus of short (5 day trips).

Can you pass my concerns to the powers that be.

Thanks

Mick

Hi Mick,

I'm pleased to hear that you had an enjoyable holiday with us last year and thank-you for your feedback regarding the Christmas & New Year programme of tours.

We do try to offer a variety of tours which are based on feedback from our customers. As such, we always appreciate receiving new comments and I have forwarded your message on to members of our Product and Marketing team.

Kind regards

Hi Mick,

Last year I did the Christmas in Andalucía holiday, which was very good. It was also fully booked. Some of the people stayed on and joined up with the New Year in Andalucía holiday which arrived as we departed. Just You adjusted their invoice down to reflect the two flights. I think the Northern Cyprus holiday would join up as well.

Trish.

Hi Trish,

Thats a good idea and may be worth considering if the price difference is good maybe JY should advertise the option as others may be interested.

Obviously wouldn't want to do the included excurrsions twice, wonder if some extra discount for that.

Andalucia is a holiday I've done (not xmas) but will have a look at North Cyprus.

Hi Mick,

Sorry, I did not think about the excursions being duplicated. Worth a try.

Could I pick your brains about last years Christmas and New Year holiday to the Costa Brava please?

What was the hotel like, was it busy or was it only Just You guests staying?

What was the weather like while you were there?

I don't like a beach type holiday, I prefer to see some of the surrounding area. I know there are five included excursions and J.Y. say that optional excursions are available in resort. Was there a good choice and did you do any of them?

Trish.

Hi Trish,

The hotel was fine and fairly full most of the week, about 40 of us and two coach loads of Germans. Think it only opened for the festive period and was shutting down after we left until the summer season. The staff were really nice and also there was entertainment on every night in the hotel bar, varying from singers, disco, flamenco, etc.

A couple of the excurrsions I thought were too far, long time on the bus for a short look around.

There is a good train service along the coast, a few people had a extra day in Barcelona using it and three of us had a trip the other way to Blanes which was nice (train then bus but on one ticket), but you can to lots of places. We also had a good walk along the coast road and a couple of people who were keen walkers went into the hills.

Weather was fine but not warm enough for sitting on the beach (some days T shirt would do others you needed a jacket or fleece), got quite chilly on an evening.

Hi Mick,

Thanks for the info. I just wasn't sure there would be enough to fill the 13 days and didn't want to be stuck in a remote hotel. I would be quite happy to see Barcelona twice and explore around the area especially if public transport is good.

I also meant to say thanks for posting the link to your National Park photographs. They are very good and I have now added another holiday to my to do list.

Hi Trish,

Here is a link to the Costa Brava photos to give you an idea :-

If you do Barcelona on the train a good idea is to do the hop on hop off bus tours, there is two routes and between them stop at all the main attractions, dare I say better than our guided tour on the coach.
