I have spoken with one of my colleagues who has done the Travelsphere version of this tour (which is very similar).

She has stated that she doesn't see why you wouldn't be able to enjoy this holiday and that there was actually very little walking involved - there was quite a bit of getting in and out of the safari vehicles for the game drives, and it is lovely to be able to stand in the vehicle when it comes to a stop to view animals (though not essential), but you would mostly be sitting. For the second part of the holiday, at the beachfront hotel, this is very relaxing and you can do as much or as little walking as you wish.

As I mentioned - this was for the Travelsphere tour so it might be worth asking the wider Just You community for their experiences of this holiday.

Can I just but in on this posting, I went on this tour a couple years ago...

Just one word of warning, are you able to get in and out of a jeep??? The reason I ask is that we had a lady that was not very able and we as passengers and or the driver can NOT assist with getting a person in or out of a jeep, I do hope you understand, as in health and safety etc. Also you should take it in turns to sit with the driver to get the BEST view but in the end this lady was such a challenge we let her sit in the from each safari drive.

Please do not think I am saying this to be negative, but more from a practical point of view.

This is a great holiday to go on, and apart from the issue of getting in and out of a Jeep it is different from a car, I think you would be fine, on the fantastic boat trip evening meal there are a huge amount of stairs but there must be a lift system somewhere as the lady was on the boat.

I did this tour a couple of years ago and can I say the Somak drivers/guides were very helpful, we had a lady who used a stick, which broke and they went out of their way to find her a replacement, they would also help her in and out of the jeeps (well mini bus really), we let her sit in the front with the driver, we didn't mind really as for nearly all of the drives those of us in the back were stood up, we also had a lady who used cructches and they would help her as well.

Maybe things have changed since Cindy was there.

It might well of changed....it's just from my point off view you can't just take it for granted they WILL help I am sure some woud but also some will not....

I do agree ith the comment I was happy in the back as we were all standing up at some point which you cannot do if your sitting in the front.
