Hello

You will certainly be able to use euros in Vienna and they may be accepted by some shops and restaurants in the Czech Republic and Hungary. although probably at an unfavourable exchange rate. So I would take some local currency for those countries too - forints for Hungary and koruna for the Czech republic.

Kind regards

I am glad you asked this question; I was also wondering the same! Going on the 1st August trip?

I was wondering whether to take english money and change it in the hotels - assuming they will do that? I know the rate of exchange is poor in hotels but I do not want to get local currency here as I have no idea how much to get! And then pay through the nose to change unspent money back when I get home. With evening meals and excursions included, I do not expect to spend a lot of cash other than for drinks and a snack lunch. Has anyone been on this holiday who can give me an idea how much such things cost?

I am going on the 1st August, flying from Manchester - anyone else going then?

Hello Shyanne

The best thing to do is take your debit/credit card and use it to withdraw local currency from ATMs as and when you need it. This way you won't have too much or too little. Just remember to let your bank know your travel plans so they don't suspect fraud and block your card.

I don't have any information on who is flying from Manchester but you might be able to get in touch with any others here on the Community - or by looking out for our luggage tags at the airport.

Kind regards
