I am thinking of going to Vietnam 1st Oct this year, but I am a bit

apprehensive as this would be my first singles holiday since I lost my dear wife last year.

Any info or comments to help me come to a decision would be very welcome!!!

Hello

I'm so sorry to hear about your wife. I know what a big step it can be to book your first single holiday but you may find it reassuring to read some of the other messages here on the Community from people who have also lost their partner.

Our Vietnam trip on 1 October is proving very popular. So far 27 people have booked that holiday and there are eight places left.

Kind regards,

Olly, your editor

Hi Young Seventy

I have today returned from the Vietnam trip but I also added on Cambodia. It is an amazing experience and you won't regret booking it. There were several people over the age of seventy in our group and the remainder made up with all ages. Everybody got on so well and the older ones had more stamina than some of the younger ones. Make sure you take light clothing and comfortable shoes. The hotels are great, all with air conditioning, you will have a fantastic time.

Kind regards

Iris

Are all the places taken on the trip to Vietnam on 1st Oct2012?

If so it would be nice to hear from anybody who is going, I realise it is a long way ahead, but it would be good to get some information as to what to take with me and if any medication is needed when

traveling in this area!!!

I would like to know if it is necessary to have any jabs or any other medication for the trip to Vietnam?

Hi Young Seventy

Please speak to your GP about any jabs or any similar issues. They are the experts and will know about your medical history too.

Hi Max

I'm not going to give too much away and spoil the surprises that you will get on this wonderful holiday but take your swimming costume with you and of course your camera with a large memory card in it, there are so many things to photograph. Hat and sunglasses as the sun is very hot and the light very bright.Suntan lotion and mosquito spray. Imodium or similar just in case of tummy upsets. You only need dollars to spend, I found using the Vietnamese Dong very confusing, there are too many noughts on the end (unless you are an accountant and can cope with lots of noughts)!

I don't think I've given anything away but hope the tips help.

Have a wonderful holiday.

Kind regards

Iris

Hi Iris,

Thanks for the further hints and tips, and it is good to know that dollars are the only currency needed. I am frankly surprised by how few people post opinions etc. on this site and I hope that the other travellers who are going on the trip in Oct will be friendly.

Hi Iris,

Thanks for your reply and the hints and tips that you have provided, its good to hear from someone who has been on the trip, and your information on the currency etc. I am surprised by how few contributers there are to this site, especially as Olley said that there are at least 27 people already booked for Oct.

Thanks again.

I'm booked on this trip. It will be my first singles trip too. Thanks for the tips Iris. I'm just a little concerned that my passport hasn't been returned yet having been sent via Just You for visas.

Hi Iris,

I am going on this trip on 17th Sept with the Cambodia add on so any more tips would be really useful. What type of adaptor did you bring, did you need to take Malaria tablets etc??

Many Thanks

Anita

Hello,

It's nice to get a communication from someone else who is going on

1st Oct.

I sent my passport away 3 weeks ago for my visa and have just received it back. (1st Sept)
