I am joining the Kenyan Safari, have heard that it is good to take paper. pencils, pens ect to give to the children.

It is my first Just You holiday,I am looking forward to it .

Where would one be able to give the gifts of books ect. as I understand we need two bags, one for the Safari and one for Mombassa, so need to know which bag to pack the pens ect. in

also anyone else going on the trip who would like to contact?

Christine

Hi ChristineThank you for your message.I thought I would explain the whole sitaution with luggage on this trip for you.You are allowed to take 2 peices of luggage per person, with a combined weight of 35kgs. (If you choose to take 1 bag, this shoudn't weigh more than 32kgs.)It's best to use 1 bag for the safari part of the holiday and the other for the resort in Mombasa, as this bag will be transferred from Mombassa airport and will be waiting for you on arrival at the resort. I would therefor advise you to pack any gifts for in your 'safari' luggage. It's also best to pack a swimming costume in this bag as some lodges have pools and you may want a dip!Just a note on the type of luggage for the safari - it's advisabe to use a holdall rather than a suitcase on this part of the holiday as it will travel with you in the back of the vehicleIn case you were wondering about the type of clothing, I would advise casual and comfortable whilst on safari. Sunglasses and hats are higly recommended. The temperature in the mountainous regions gets low at night so some warm clothing is also a good idea. Well, I hope this has helped and you feel better prepared.Have a fantastic time Christine - hope to hear all about it on your return.Kind regardsCheryl, your editor
