Hi James,

Im going to China in 2 weeks and was wondering about clothing.

After reading some packing tips on other websites I am in two minds what to pack.

I was going to take a leather jacket, but realise it might look stupid with short cargo troverses,Ive read a light rain jacket is the best option.

Was going to take my favourite crocs sandles, but heard they not good as they quite loose fitting, instead maybe trainers for long walks,as well as a slip on smart shoe for other occasions.

Are sleeveless strappy tops ok,or are they abit too revealing,Ive heard the chinese are more conservative in outlook,so would I need to wear short sleeves at least?

A small backback to carry cameras, tissues, water etc,Ive heard some people lock the zips even.

Lastly a fleece or cardigan, though the temps are quite high in the 20s at the moment, from what I saw on the bbc weather.

Layers are good Ive read also.

Thanks again for your time and help James!

Hello Sharon, you are right about the leather jacket. It won't be very suitable at this time of year in China, especially since you will be on a few walking tours so it would be better to go with a light rain jacket.

Sandals again would not be ideal, instead take some comfortable trainers for the day time and something not so casual for evenings.

You would be more comfortable in short sleeveless tops rather than strappy tops I'm sure, but this is really a comfort issue rather than being too revealing.

A small back pack would be great for you to carry small items in such as cameras or bottles of water like you said. Some people do lock the zips but it is up to you. I never leave my bag by itself anyway so it is always in my sight.

It would be wise to take one fleece or cardigan just to be on the safe side, and then a couple of extra layers just for comfort if you should need them.

I hope this information has been helpful and if you have any further queries then please do not hesitate to message me.

Kind regards

Hello Sharon, yes it is quite normal to receive your final details and documentation right before your holiday. Details are usually posted 7-10 days before the holiday commences, and a customer's details are never misplaced or forgotten. Continue to prepare for your holiday, your details will be with you soon.

I hope this information has been reassuring and if you have any further questions then please do not hesitate to message me. If you don't have any more questions then have a fantastic holiday. China is a wonderful part of the world.

Kind regards
