Hi Cheryl, have done a couple of singles holidays over the past 4 years, one with Travelsphere. I am now very deaf and frankly dreading the prospect of a trip to Oz and New Zealand in April of next year. Any advice please. My daughter lives in Sydney and for my 60th birthday has given me a climb to the top of THE BRIDGE, which I am really looking forward to Maggie Hamilton

Hi Maggie

Thank you for your message

Please don't worry Maggie we regularly take bookings from people who are hard of hearing or deaf. Our Tour Managers are very used to dealing with situations like yours and I'm sure the rest of the group will make sure you have a fab time - remember it's more than likely some of them will have their own personal reasons to be nervous. In fact, having done some single travelling before you will probably know what to expect more than others.

Keep thinking positive, the experience you will have to Australia and New Zealand will far outweigh any nerves at the beginning. You've already said how much you are looking forward to climbing the bridge in Sydney and imagine how lovely it will be spending your 60th with your daughter. I'm certain you are making the right decision in going there - I can't say I understand how you must be feeling as I'm not in your shoes and I can only imagine that it must be daunting, however from reading your own comments I think you know you will enjoy it - so keep that in your mind whenever you start to doubt yourself, stick to your guns and have a great holiday.

I'd really love to read all about your trip - please keep in touch

Kindest regards

Cheryl, your editor
