I always use Premier Inn Bath Road.  Shuttle can take 45 minutes to get there from Heathrow but hotel to airport is around 25 minutes depending on time of day.  There are those that are nearer to the airport but the return journey takes longer.  Shuttle has a circular route and it all depends where on the route you are.  I never pay for meals in advance but pay for these on arrival, and book a table at the same time, if I need them.

Hope this helps

I use the T5 premier Inn local bus stop right outside or you can use the Hoppa bus

Hi Sue,  I always stay at the Thistle,  very clean, delicious food in restaurant,  friendly staff, reasonable cost, large first floor patio to watch the planes.  AND. for £5 there is the Pod  to take you across to T5. The advantage of the Pod is that it runs all the time.  You are not restricted to the times that a hotel runs a coach.

The Pod is a driverless cabin that takes 4-6 plus luggage and runs on a monorail.  Fun as well as convenient.

Enjoy your holiday.

That sounds really good, how long does it take to walk to the pod from The Thistle, how long does it take to travel to Terminal 5 in pod and where do you get the £5 ticket? How much are single rooms at the Thistle, I’m looking for a room over Xmas?

The Premier Inn at T4 has a covered walkway to T4 & then you can use the free Heathrow connect underground to T5, I used it earlier this year & it worked well.

Probably about 2 minutes.   Less than 10 mins in the Pod. Buy the ticket at reception in the hotel.

Sorry don’t know Hotel prices but am sure they would be on the web. The Pod goes to  T5 car park right next to a lift straight into the terminal.

Since I found out that regular London buses are all free around the Heathrow perimeter roads I don't use the chargeable Hoppa buses any more. These are free to anyone of any age at any time.

They are much more regular (including some overnight night buses when the Hoppas either don't run at all or only run every 30 minutes), in as little three minutes for a wait for any one of them to turn up. e.g. there's up to six bus routes to choose from on the Bath Road stretch - and all go the same most direct route into the central Bus Station. There's less choice to get to T5 but there are options - see the below link.

Also, there's no circular route issue so you're not on a win/lose or lose/win of one of the ways to/from your hotel being the long way around through other hotels first.

The free bus route map with their various numbers is here on Heathrow's website: https://www.heathrow.com/file_source/Heathrow/Static/PDF/Transport_and_directions/travel_around_Heathrow.pdf

Many thanks for the info, but I think the pod is much better for me, especially at my age!

There is a Premier Inn at Terminal 5 with a covered walkway directly to T5. Reasonably priced too, I have used it a couple of times

Hi,

Is this new? I know there is a Premier Inn at Terminal 4 with a walkway direct to the terminal, but not at T5?

I have stayed many, many times at Premier Inn T5 and the other Bath Road PI.

Cheers,

Hils

Sue it may be worthwhile checking, though I do not know how, that the pod is actually working. I have been through LHR several times, and often see notices that the pod is out of action, or not available.  Means the same thing which ever phrase they use.

For flights out of Heathrow T2 there is a new hotel that you can walk to the terminal - The Hilton Garden Inn Heathrow T2. Am staying there in a couple of weeks, it's getting good reviews so far.

Sylvia, thanks for the update useful to know. So if pod is broken I guess you would need a taxi? Sue
