Hello, I have just found this site I have never traveled as a single person before so bit of a first step for me but the tour of Puglia caught my eye, I’m in the Over 60s age group and would like to know is there a good/better time to visit Puglia.

Thanks for any advice.

Hi. I haven't done this trip but have been on three other with JY and booked my fourth for next year. I wouldn't worry about traveling as a single person as everyone is in the same boat so to speak. Just chat to everyone and enjoy the company.

Hi Doogle

My response to your post seems to have disappeared into the ether!! I did this trip in September 2014. Puglia is an unspoiled region of Italy and I really enjoyed this holiday. The weather was warm and sunny without being too hot. The only down side for me was the hotel which was a little dated and situated in a village on the top of a hill. I would have preferred to stay on the coast.

My advice is go for it.

Hi Doogie

I did this in 2014 as well - Hi Lesley - and agree with her comments about the hotel.  I would also add that the room I was in had thin walls, and you could hear everything, and I mean everything, that was going on in the next room.  It was advertised as a family friendly hotel - for family friendly, read children. As for the "best" time, I always try to avoid mid-June to the end of September to avoid the worst of the heat.

Apart from that, this was a very good tour.  Scenery, food, sights, all very good.
