This is a specific question not a general one. Has anyone been to Costa Rica lately, if so how was the security? I was reading on the gov.uk travel advice website about crime being on the increase with tourist buses being held at gunpoint. It may be an outside chance of it happening but it may happen to you, then what?

Hi Travelcam,

Apologies for the delay.

We have not received any concerns about Costa Rica from customers or from our local agents. Costa Rica is currently at level 1, which is exercise normal precautions.

Many thanks,

Vickie

Hi

It will be a shame if Costa Rica was not considered a safe country. It was very safe when I went there in March 2017. Mexico, Guatemala and Nicaragua are not considered safe but Costa Rica was very safe. Obviously no matter where you go, you have to excercise normal precautions.

Kind regards

Jaya

Thank you Jaya for your reply. I'm glad your trip was a safe one, maybe I will give it more consideration then. I know Costa Rica is aware of the recently reported problems and I'm sure they are trying to eliminate them but it can be difficult.
