Merry Christmas Everyone,

Started thinking about next year’s holiday and was wondering if anyone have ever been to Vietnam or Borneo and if so, l would love to hear about your experiences and your thoughts about each place

Best wishes

Denise

Hi Denise,

I've done the Vietnam trip, although it was a few years ago, thoroughly enjoyed it. Be prepared for contrasts in the weather though, we started in Hanoi at 8 degrees and damp and ended up in the draining humidity of Ho Chi Min city at 38 degrees. Don't let this put you off though. This is the only trip I've been on where there were equal numbers of men and women.

I've not been to Borneo.

Any trip would be hard to beat our Kenya experience though.

Regards and a happy new year to you.

Roger.

Hi Denise,

I have done both Borneo and Vietnam with JY. They are very different countries! If you are interested in Wildlife i would suggest Borneo, but if you go up to the Search button (Top RH corner) and put in the countries, then you will see a lot of reviews, suggestions etc. etc.

Cheers,

Hils

Hi Denise,

Like Hils, I have done both tours.  I loved the Vietnam and Cambodia tour from start to finish - each place visited is quite different.  The scenery was often beautiful - Halong Bay was a wonderful experience and I loved the old town in Hoi An.  The two countries are quite contrasting and complemented each other very well.  It was wonderful to see the temples in Siem Reap but equally l loved the boat trip to Phnom Penh and the city itself.  The food was excellent in both countries.

The Borneo tour had two huge highlights for me - the stay in the jungle and the add-on to Singapore.  The jungle lodges were wonderful and we were very fortunate to see not only orangutans in the wild, but also pygmy elephants, as well as proboscis monkeys and other wildlife.  The rest of the Borneo tour wasn't very exciting in comparison!  However, I absolutely loved Singapore (I hadn't been before) - there is so much to see and do!

I hope this helps!

Hi Everyone,

Thank you for your comments, both sound fantastic, however l am warming towards Borneo because of the wildlife and jungle experience. I am also thinking about the add-on Singapore , but was wandering, how many other travellers did both

Special hello to Roger, the Kenya trip was indeed incredible and still thinking about it now ? Hope you had a good Christmas and Happy Year to you and everyone else

Best Regards

Denise

Hi Denise

I was on this trip at the same time as Bob and Hils and absolutely loved it. I also did the Singapore add on. I had been to Singapore years ago in 1990s and was glad of the opportunity to see it again as it has changed a lot since then. I loved the Gardens by the Bay.

Kind regards

Jaya
