Really sorry I think I have caused some confusion here. To clarify:

The invoice you told us you received on August 9th, which confirmed you have paid the balance, has information on page 2 which lists your accommodation for the trip.

We resent this invoice to you on August 16th, following your post to tell us that the information was missing, and our system is showing that this has been received and opened.

Regarding my reply this morning, our standard process is to also send you final confirmation of your accommodation 2 weeks prior to departure, just in case in the interim any changes have to be made.

Apologies, I should have been clearer in my response this morning.

To save further confusion, we would be more than happy to give you a call just to talk through the information you have and make sure nothing is missing. If you'd like us to do that, please let me know and someone will give you a call before 6pm today, or whenever is convenient to you.

Sorry to be a pain but I'm just echoing Jonah's comments.

There seems to be some sort of system glitch here. I think we all fully accept that there may be changes to flight times/hotels/itinerary etc but the point here is that having, in my case, having been told about a hotel change then one does rather expect the change to be reflected in any subsequent documentation.

It seems to me that the system may not have been properly updated back in May when we were told about the hotel change and this is what is causing the concern.

Only a small percentage of travellers use the forum so there may be any number of other (needless) enquiries direct to JY that we don't see here that could have been avoided had systems been updated.

Yes the e-visa is straightforward.  Just make sure you have all your information to hand (photo and copy of passport saved to your computer) because the form doesn't allow you to save and go back.  It will just kick you out so you have to start again.  But it is a short form unlike the Russian or Indian ones!!!!

Hi Ian,

We've looked into this and unfortunately it does appear to have been an oversight that the new invoices were not sent out with the updated accommodation on them. We're investigating how this happened so we can ensure it doesn't occur again.

We have generated new invoices for all customers on the trip so you should receive them shortly by post or email depending on your preferences, with the hotel amendments on them.

Hi all

Have now booked the Halong Bay cruise - hopefully we will have enough for our own boat!! As a result I now have an updated invoice which at last has all the information in one place.

10 weeks to go!! Must check if I need any boosters - so glad anti-malarials aren't required.
