Cannot make up my mind which one of these holidays to book. Help! Is there anyone out there booked on either of these tours in September and October this year who might be able to offer some advice please?

Hi I did the CAB tour six years ago in September and loved it.  It is at the end of their winter, beginning of spring so the weather may be a bit hit and miss in Chile/over the Andes.  However it was beautiful in Buenos Aires, Iguazu and Rio.  I absolutely loved this tour and it remains one of my favourites.

I hope to do the Romania tour in a couple of years and would say that Sept would be a very good time to go - I would think that the weather would be better there in Sept rather than Oct, whereas with the CAB tour it's the other way around!

Best wishes,

Bob

Hi Bob,

Thank you for getting in touch. From what you say maybe Romania might be a good trip to go on first regarding weather reliability.  It sounds really interesting.  Perhaps Chile would be better in April 2019.  I'm so indecisive because I want to do both!

Kind regards,

Elaine.

Hi Elaine,

I think the Romania tour sounds wonderful and I definitely hope to do it in a couple of years - hope it's still around then!  I would say that for the CAB tour Oct to March/April would probably be the best time of year to go; a friend of mine went in May last year and had pretty poor weather.  Looking at the current dates available for 2019 on the website, I would hope that any of them would be ok weather wise, although of course nothing can be guaranteed these days!

All the best,

Bob

Thanks for helping me to make a decision Bob. Much appreciated. Romania it is!

Hi Elaine,

That's great - please do write a full review when you get back as I'm very keen to see how this tour goes.

Although I am very annoyed with JY for stating on the website that from next year, it will no longer be half board and an excursion will be dropped.  Apparently this is following "customer feedback" - hard to understand this, as the tour hasn't run yet!!!  And the Travelsphere itinerary is different and JY/Trav groups are quite different beasts, so you can't compare one with the other....

Cheers,

Bob

Hi Bob,

Thanks for your feedback, I'll pass this to our Product team who put together the itineraries.

Thanks,

Vickie

Thanks Vickie,

As a fellow traveller pointed out to me, that if JY want their customers on this tour to have the opportunity to experience local restaurants, then they could have included this, rather than just dropping the included dinners!!  It sounds like cost-cutting to me....unless there is going to be a price reduction next year?!!

Best wishes,

Bob

PS I do, however, think the JY itinerary for Romania is much better than the Trav one!!  I hope to do it in 2020...

Hi Bob

I was browsing the new brochure I received today and was disappointed to see that an excursion, which used to be included in New Zealand trip to date is now offered as optional. The cost has gone up a lot and you are having to pay for more excursions and meals which puts the cost up even more. I do not plan to do this trip till 2020 and will wait and see what else is dropped!

Regards

Jaya

I have done Romania/Transylvania but not with Just You and it was absolutely fabulous. Didn't visit all the places on the Just You itinerary but several of them along with others and it's a wonderful country. Went in the month of June and it was scorching hot. The local people are so kind and helpful and I too had dinner with a local family, a great experience. Go for it.
