Hello fellow travellers. I can't see that anyone has posted for this trip yet so I am opening a thread to hopefully chat to others who are booked. It's a way off yet I know.

I have never travelled on my own before and I see that many of you are old hands at it so any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm a bit scared to say the least. I know I am in good hands from what is said but it's still a big step for me at the age of 69  :s

Hello Travelcam,

I returned from this trip 3 weeks ago and my review is somewhere. I am not sure where you go first, we started in Singapore which was magical. Loved New Zealand. The tour is full on and I believe the Kaikoura Highway is open at Christmas. Will save you an 8 hour trip that we had to do.

Have a wonderful time- you will love it.

Hi Travelcam

Don't worry about age - it is just a number. You will be fine. There is no need to be scared at all as you will be well looked after and meet interesting, friendly people along the way. There will always be someone to talk to. I have been on many Just You holidays and have enjoyed each and every one. Of course, I too was a bit apprehensive and very nervous when I booked my first trip as you are not sure what to expect. But the apprehension and the nerves soon disappeared on arrival at the airport. You will have a lounge pass for the New Zealand trip and will meet most of your fellow travellers there before you fly out. Enjoy the trip and your first Just You experience. I hope to do this trip in 2020.

Kind regards

Jaya

I am going on this trip too. I have not travelled with JY before. It is certainly a long flight. Do you plan to stop off on the way back?

Hi Jan and thanks for your reply. I did read your review and very much enjoyed it. I know I will love it there as I have always wanted to visit and it's finally becoming a reality.

Hi Jennifer, Thanks for replying. No, I don't plan on stopping off on the way back, I always prefer to get home once I'm on my way, preferring to stop off on the outward journey then it all seems more part of the holiday.

Hi Travelcam I am booked to go to New Zealand in March 2018 in fact it goes next week.Like u I’m travelling for the first time on my own and am extremely nervous.Ive read a lot of reviews of Just You and they’ve all been reallly good. I took the plunge and booked it so it’s reassuring there will be other people in the group that are on their first ever Just You holiday as well.

Hi Simon, probably by the time this post is approved by moderators we will already be on our way. I think Just You has good reports but travelling on your own can no doubt be very lonely, we will see.
