Hi There

I am nearly ready to 'bite the bullet' and book my first ever solo trip. I like the sound of so many JY holidays - its really difficult to choose but I keep coming back to Costa Rica and Nicaragua - who's been on this tour and what do you think?  My other shortlisted tours are Borneo and Highlights of Peru.

Look forward to hearing your experienced views.

Thanks

Dorothy

Hi Dorothy,

I have done the Costa Rica/Nicaragua and Borneo tours but not Peru (yet!).  I loved Costa Rica, we saw so much wildlife and it was most enjoyable with some lovely scenery and also some great colonial buildings in Nicaragua as well.  It was most enjoyable from start to finish.  Borneo was a tale of two tours for me really - I loved the time at the lodges, seeing the orang-utans in the wild and lots of other wildlife too and visiting Sepilok (Singapore was amazing also) but the time in Kota Kinabalu wasn't very exciting or interesting.  I'd put Costa Rica ahead of it - be sure you bring a camera with a really strong zoom lens if you do this tour!

I hope to do Peru in a couple of years, but will do the Travelsphere version as it is longer.

Hope this helps!  At the end of the day, study the itinerary carefully and google the places mentioned and see which appeals to you more.

All the best,

Bob

Hi Dorothy

I did Costa Rica & Nicaragua in March of this year and I can say its the most wonderful of tours, there is so much wildlife and its not always a million miles away from you and I must say every day had something a little different, some of the places we stayed also are worth a mention, there also was the hanging bridges at Arenal and cloud forest walks which were very interesting, a night jungle walk was thrilling as was the zip line, Nicaragua was again so very different and we enjoyed out three nights there, the boat ride round Nicaragua lake was simply breath taking with again so much wildlife

I have also done Borneo of which we were so lucky to see Orangs in the wild not every tour were so lucky but again the time at the lodges were amazing as were the all the boat wildlife cruises, KK was pretty ordinary to be honest but the visit to see the orangs at Sepilok is a memory in itself , also done Peru with Amazon but with Travelsphere as longer tour for not much more which is another wonderful tour

hope this helps you decide

Regards

Dave
