Hi, have stayed a couple of times with JY at the Hotel Midas, once on the Treasures of Andalucia, once on the Andalucia Golden Circle. The first holiday we stayed all week, the second time first and last nights. The hotel is situated just out of the centre of Mijas Pueblo, about 5 minute walk to the square etc. The hotel is off the main road, slightly down the hill. On arrival, the bus cannot get to the front of the hotel, it's on a bend, so luggage is transferred in a minibus. Passengers walk down to the hotel, via a flight of steps, the front of the hotel is cobbled, not best is mobility is a bit challenged,. The hotel has a fabulous view down to the sea (public bus is frequent and inexpensive down to the sea, it's a few miles). Both times I have had a nice comfy room, never had any complaints. Food I have always found good, plenty of choice, lovely salad buffet, never had a problem with meals, but as usual it didn't suit all. Outdoor swimming pool, towels hired for week from reception, wifi in bar area. Village lovely, plenty to do, lovely squares, churches, horse carriage/ donkey taxi around village. Shrine to Virgin Mary in a small cave in village centre that's popular attraction, lovely folk type museum, other museums, plenty of cafes and shops. Many of JY folk wandered into village at night, picturesque. There was free flamenco performance in main square Friday, but not sure if it still happens, when I went last year they were doing lots of work to roads etc and improving square so not sure about that.
