Five days to go - not that I am counting. 😃   Looking forward to meeting fellow travellers at Heathrow on Saturday.  Think I am the most nervous I have been about a holiday not least the challenge of 15 kg suitcase luggage!!.  I thought Burma was out of my comfort zone before I went and then I absolutely loved it.  Hope the same applies this time 😕

Have a great time Jonah, look forward to reading your review, yes 15 kg is rather mean for a long haul, must be a right budget airline your flying with, you often find a tour your a little apprehensive about turns into being much better than you anticipated

all the best

Hi Jonah, please write a review.

I went to Burma after you, last November.  Loved it too.  First experience of Asia.  Now going to Cambodia, Laos and Vietnam this Nov (not with JY).  Am really interested in the more unusual Asian destinations - currently trying to decide what to book for Feb/March 2018.

Hi Jonah

I'm so, so jealous, , Mongolia was top of my list for this year but I couldn't make it, hopefully I can make it another time.  I hope you all have a great time on this new adventure.  I believe you have Yvette Barnett as your TM, how lucky are you, Mongolia and Yvette, you will be in great hands there 😃 .

Have a safe journey

You'll have a wonderful time and you have a great TM in Yvette. Please write a review when you return and let us all know how you managed the weight limit !

Thanks all for your good wishes and I will certainly write a review on my return.

AbbaDave - its is not an airline restriction (Air China is quite generous) but the 4 x 4's for travelling around when we arrive.  Good bit is I have lots of capacity for retail therapy during the Beijing add-on.

Hi Bob,

thanks for remembering i was booked for this Mongolian adventure in June, unfortunately I couldn't get my holiday dates changed when they decided to cancel the June date , so had to I've had forgo Mongolia this year and instead I'm off on the Heart & Soul trip to the US in October.  I'm looking forward to Jonah's review, hopefully I can try and rebook next year if the tour is still running then!

Hi Jacqueline,

Nice to hear from you!  Sorry you couldn't change the date but I hope you have a great time on the Heart and Soul tour!  I think Mongolia is scheduled to run in July and August next year, which rules it out for me as I can't go away during that time.

All the best,

Bob

It would be interesting to find out if they really weigh your luggage when you are travelling in 4 x 4s in Mongolia! I would love to do this trip one of these days and can't wait to read Jonah's review.

Regards

Jaya

Have just got back from Mongolia, had a good trip, it was hot 30-34 so take sun cream. I also do not eat red meat, so had chicken every day, started off two no red meat, by the end of the holiday there were seven out of ten NO red meat, it was mutton, and did not look very appertising, but the rest of the meal was good.Make sure you have loo paper and a torch, as some of the lights go out at 10-10.30, so not too much drinking and talking.Showers and loos apotless, drivers Very good. 4x4.also early mornings. Have a good trip.
