Hi there,

Am travelling to Costa De La Luz next Tuesday 6th June.  Haven't been on holiday for many many years.  5 years to be precise.  Have been full time carer for my elderly Mum, recently moved in to a nursing home.

Panicking like no one business.  Looking for friends.  Anyone out there?

Hi Viv

Don't panic, rest assured you will be fine.

It sounds as if you really deserve a good holiday! I was in a similar situation as I understand many other JY er's have been too.

The worst part is getting to the airport before meeting anyone. Once at the airport I always look for JY luggage labels, the airport rep or if you know that the TM is travelling with you, look for them. Once you have met just one person your apprehension will disappear and you will be wearing a big smile.

I am sure that you will have a great time and will be thinking about your second JY holiday even before you come home.

Yes, it is nice to meet other people going on your trip on the forum, but don't be dismayed if you don't because the forum isn't used by all JY customers. Take heart you will soon make friends on the journey.

Kind regards

Di

Please do not panic.  I am not going on the Costa De La Luz holiday but have just returned from San Marino.  I spotted a JY label on a bag going through Security at Heathrow, spoke to the owner of said bag and by the time the Gate was announced you'd think we had been friends forever!  Also by the time we boarded the plane there were 8 of us all having a great time nattering and laughing.  If you put your label on your hand luggage  there will be experienced JY devotees looking out for you.

All our newbies on the San Marino holiday said that they didn't know why they worried.  Relax and enjoy, we have all been first timers once.

Have been on the Costa De la Luz trip and it is brilliant.  Would advise a walk round the lake at the ship reconstruction site!

Look forward to reading about your experience when you return.
