Hi everyone, I'm browsing JY brochures and thinking of doing the National Parks tour in 2017. I've never been on a solo tour before but my friend has inspired me as she has done loads of tours as a solo traveller. I'm dithering therefore it would be good to hear from other folks as a reassurance. I didn't know whether to jump in to a big US trip or take a shorter European trip for my first one

Hi Shaz

I started travelling with JY in 2010. I had just taken early retirement and decided to start working my way through a wish list. I dithered too but eventually bit the bullet and booked China for my first holiday. Have done two trips to the USA and two to India, together with one to Croatia and two to Italy, since. Have not done the particular trip you mention but if you go to the review section I am sure you will find information you require.

My advice is go for it!!

Hi Shaz,

Welcome to JY!  I did the National Parks tour three years ago and it was one of my best holidays ever!  I had a fantastic time and strongly recommend it.  You will spend lots of time on the coach as you will cover a huge area but it is all worth it and the views from the coach are amazing for much of the time.  My favourite parks were Badlands, Yellowstone, Monument Valley and, of course, the Grand Canyon.  Here's a link to the review I wrote when I got back:

I hope you book and have a brilliant time!

All the best,

Bob

Hi Shaz

I started travelling solo with JY in 2010 and my first trip was to New Zealand.  And have done many long haul with them since.  So, I would encourage you to do a long haul as the first one, you will not regret it and will have a brilliant time.

I am likely to be booking the September National Parks tour next year soon.  (AELB - Mandy if you see this yes, I'll be joining you!)

Happy holidays

Sylvia
