I have just booked the Ultimate Alaska trip for May 2017. I am now feeling apprehensive as this is my first time going solo and would like to make contact with anyone else doing the same trip.

Hi Westacott

Welcome to the JY Community! I can understand your apprehension but trust me, there is really no need to worry. You won't be alone, you'll be with a group of 25 or so like minded people, all having the time of their lives in the care of Just You. You will be very well looked after and all the stress of planning and logistics for your trip will be taken care of leaving you with nothing to do but enjoy yourself.

Take it from me - on the Ultimate Alaska trip, you will do nothing but enjoy yourself. If you have a look on the 'Reviews' section of the Forum, or put 'Alaska' into the search function on the top right of the page, you will find my review of 'Ultimate Alaska' from May of this year. It was superb.

Happy to help if you have any questions about the trip that I didn't cover in my review.

All the best

I have recently returned from the September tour.  It was my first solo tour and like you I was a bit apprehensive but no need to worry, we had a fantastic time. A great tour manager, Brian Croft, lovely friendly group of people and the most amazing sights and experiences. I know Brian wants to do this tour again next year so if you get him you are very lucky. The only downside was the flights but I understand these are different next year. You will love it - enjoy!

Hi Mandy, thanks for the reassurance. I read the review, warts and all, and am really looking forward to the holiday. How much walking was there? Trip notes say rough ground etc., was there much rough walking? I have a wonky ankle that is fine most of the time... but Sod's law and all that! Will make a note to take a neck and/or back pillow for the bus trips!

Cheers

Carole

Thanks for getting in touch, so reassuring to hear going solo for the first was an enjoyable experience.
