Hi there. This is my first solo trip, and I'm doing the Canada and New England tour at the end of this month. I'm looking to say hi to my fellow travellers, and any useful suggestions from people that have made this tour before. Apprehensive, but looking forward to it.

Hi there. I'm on the same trip that you are! It's in my bucket list, and I can't quite believe I am going. Keeping an eye on the weather, as don't know what clothes to take!

Hi there Cindy.

I'm unsure about how much local currency to take. What do you recommend? I'm really looking forward to it.

Hi

I did this trip in 2013. The itinerary has changed as trip I did started in Boston , moved into New England and on to Canada. Holiday ended in New York. I really enjoyed all the different places visited with Boston, Toronto Montreal and Quebec and Niagara Falls being highlights.

Would recommend trip to Cape Cod. Lovely area with a lot of history.

Enjoy your holiday

Hi LinB

Lovely to find a fellow traveller who is going it alone for the first time as well! Like yourself I have wanted to go to New England for a long time and now we've had the itinerary I am very excited. As for what clothes to take I thought the weather would be quite chilly but looking at the current weather its looking warm so don't know what to pack either!

Hi Linda and Hazel

I'm on the trip departing on the 18th September. I am hoping to have the time to do a day by day review of the holiday as I go in the review section of the forum. As far as currency is concerned I am taking 300 Canadian and 200 US dollars but will also be using a credit or debit card now and again.

Currency is A hard one to work out, but just take onboard that you need to factor in, most days lunch and dinner and drinks also tea/coffee cake breaks as well, also tipping is expected in that

part of the world, so think of what you would spend on lunch dinner and drinks in England and stick a bit more on just in case, then there are the optional trips to add on and of course shopping!,

I did go to a theatre show in Canada which was approx $100....

I always take cash in local currency and I also take a bank card and credit card just in case.

You will have a great time I am sure

Morning

I'm on the trip departing 25th September too. Looking forward to meeting you all.

Having done the Texas trip last year, I'm working on the premise that it will be around £50 a day spending for lunch, dinner, tips, coffee and anything else you may want. That's probably a bit extravagant but you will need some cash for tipping the Tour Manager and Driver at the end to.

With regards to packing, the weather is looking changeable so I would suggest lots of layering and a waterproof. Less is more too as you are moving hotels a lot and on the previous trip we were leaving our bags outside or room door early in the morning for collection before departure so there wasn't a huge amount of time to unpack and pack. If the worse comes to the worse it is a good excuse to go shopping!

See you on Sunday.
