Hi I've finally plucked up the courage to book a holiday in Croatia on 5th October 16

I was just wondering who else is going? Be lovely to get to know fellow travellers. Have not got a clue what clothes to pack for October weather? Any tips - woollens  or cottons ?

Hi ellyhay

I am going on 5th too, also after plucking up some courage! It looks like top temps could be anything from about 18 to 24 but it seems to fall to the low teens. I am hoping for cottons and have optimistically put my swimming costume in. It does look like it might be wet though so I'm taking a light waterproof......which is less than elegant.

See you next week

Hi

I am also booked on this holiday and it is the first holiday on my own.  I have been checking weather reports.  Does not appear it will be red hot but I was expecting that also I do know it gets dark early (probably about six so evenings could be chilly).  I have decided to pack a bit of both just in case.  Taking something to dress up in for evening meals as I like doing this.   Look forward to meeting you.  Regards  Lesley Bailey.

Pleased to see I am not the only one who will be new to this type of holiday.  A bit apprehensive but hopefully everything will be ok.  Looking forward to the tours.  I have been checking weather and see that the temps are up and down and it could rain (believe there are thunderstorms on Tuesday).  I have put a light waterproof in my case as well.  Looking forward to meeting you.  Regards

You’ll love this trip which I went on early last month.  Like you, I checked the weather forecast the day before I left on the Friday so was well-pleased to see sun and 30°C temperatures were forecast for the whole week, except to expect it to be “overcast with a light shower” on the Wednesday.

Wednesday turned out to be as hot and sunny as the others – except Monday when I got drenched in a heavy storm whilst exploring Split!  Of course, the 32°C that continued after it quickly dried my shirt out.  Yes, I did look around the shops for a lightweight waterproof but didn’t like the colours on offer!

Moral:  don’t rely too much on the forecasts!
