Hello all,

I am thinking about booking a Spain trip for May next year. I'm 32 - does anyone have any experience of people similar to this age or 30s/40s being on any of these trips as this looks like a really good holiday company : )

Thanks

Hi Maggie, I've been on several JY holidays, and the ages ranged between about 30 and 85. It really didn't seem to matter as we all got on really well.

Hi Mags

I've booked on for the Spain Basque Country trip in April / May next year. Shall be 32 then, so you would not not be the only one in that bracket.

Hello Maggie,

When I went to Tuscany in 2014 I was the youngest on the trip (I was 43) ... but age is just a number and I found that all the people on the holiday were young at heart. I honestly didn't feel any age gap and everyone is warm and friendly. I know on some trips there are people in their 20s, so it is a wide age range and just the luck of the draw depending on the week you go. I had a wonderful time.

I do hope that you take the plunge and book, you won't regret it I promise :-)

I was going to ask this very question - I'm looking at booking a holiday next year - possibly New York - and I'll be 34 then so glad to know there is a range of ages 🙂

I'm another 30-something, looking to book. I've only recently moved to the UK, and I have no friends/family nearby, so travelling with a group seems like an ideal solution to me! I don't mind too much being the youngest, but it's nice to know there's a few others around.

I'm sure its been said elsewhere, but if you have a particular holiday and date in mind you can put a question under the Ask the Editor section before you book.  ie ask about the age range already booked on that particular date, also the M/F split etc.

There have been some thirty-somethings on some of my tours, tho' not many.  But they all seemed to do fine with the rest of the group.  Some tours seem to have an older demographic (eg some of the Italy trips), while the more full on touring holidays seem to have a few younger people in the group.

Hi all

just to let the other 30 somethings know there are plenty of us out there, I'm 36 and going on my first JY holiday next month to New York, I'm in the same predicament as Mags most friends settled down with kids and no one to holiday with so I would say if you see a holiday you like the look of book it, that's what I did and am just looking forward to making new friends whatever their ages.

Hi Maggie

No I haven't. Not Yet. I booked the Spain one back in April as I always wanted to see what Northern Spain was like, and then I realized it was a year away and got lured in by the Sardinia trip as well which is less now than a month away.

So i'm still a JY virgin.  Like you all my friends are now settling down with families and kids as well so seeing these trips where you can travel in a group of people and not on your own sounds great.

I looked at the Seville one as well, there are so many tantalizing trips on offer I started jotting down a long tick list and started saving.

Hi Maggie

Andalucia is a lovely trip. Seville is much closer to Costa de la Luz and that too is a great trip. So you have a choice of two!

I am in my sixties and am just thinking of taking my first venture of a long haul holiday on my own. Thinking of the China trip, want to see the Terracotta Army, its a trip that's on my bucket list. Only trouble is I'm extremely nervous about being on my own. I'm also a bit shy of new people. Help.

Don't worry home bird. Lots of people in same situation. No one is left out. People are so friendly

Hi homebird

China was my first JY trip in 2010. Like you, I wanted to see the terracotta army and the great wall. I debated for a long time whether or not to book the holiday but eventually decided to go for it. I was nervous and apprehensive until I met up with the group. Everyone was very friendly and you are seldom left on your own. This is a full on tour which has changed slightly since I went but you do see so much.

My advice is take a deep breath and book the holiday.

Hi Homebird

Life is too short to worry about little things. If you really want to go to China just go ahead and book the trip. Travelling with Just You is great as everything is taken care of from start to finish. All you have to do is sit back, enjoy and have lots of fun.

Best wishes

Jaya
