Is anyone booked on the Flavours of Italy tour on 29 September? I love cooking and I want to see Tuscany so this seemed a good start for my first solo holiday. Very nervous and my hesitation in booking means that I have missed out on many of the other tours that I would have been interested in as they are all fully booked! Silly I know.

Never mind Binkie.  You have taken the first step and if you are anything like other JY'ers, once the new brochure comes out you will one of the first to book.  Have a great holiday

Hello Binkie, I've booked this trip for 29th September. I went to this hotel a couple of years ago for the Discover Tuscany trip and I thought it was really lovely, so friendly and relaxed - lovely family. I am really looking forward to seeing Florence again as, with all trips there is never quite enough time. Please don't be nervous, although everyone is first time. This will be my 7th holiday with JY and I've never been disappointed. I look forward to meeting you - you won't regret it.

Margaret  🙂

Hello Binkie,

I did this trip last year with my sister Jen, her first JY tour. We had such a great time. Loved all the cooking, wine I am not keen on, still had a sip to try though.

The hill top towns of Volterra and San Gimignano were beautiful- not for the infirm. Siena was glorious- watch the James Bond film Quantum of Solace and you wonder how they perform this race in such a small space. Florence is glorious, one lady had been many times so had a timed ticket to see the famous David, knowing exactly where to find the statue. Remember Pisa for all the wrong reasons. We were told to wear our rucksacks at the front to deter thieves. I went flying as I wear bifocals, missing the kerb. Would have loved more time in the Cemetery housed in a building which contained beautiful paintings on the wall. In the Baptistry- listen to the singing that echos.

The hotel is ok, food was changed due to previous complaints. We had bedrooms over the bar and entrance- could be quite noisy. Jen heard a strange noise at night- worked out that it was the coffee maker in the bar. No kettles or drinks in the rooms.
