Hello Susie

I went on this holiday in September last year and rate it up there as one of the best holidays I have been on with JY (17 in all).

If you have been on any of the long haul holidays you will know they can be quite full on at times and this holiday is no different from any of the others. The Uzbeks are lovely people and I felt safer there than just about any country I have been to and would have no hesitation in going back, I would love to do that some day. You will probably have to go "al fresco" on some of the loo stops but I don't think many people on my trip found that a problem, think most of us found it a bit of a laugh, you'll be able to find your own little "niche", and nobody bothers about what others are doing anyway. I would suggest it may be better to wear a skirt on long journey days.

Think of it as an adventure rather than a challenge, just take all the usual precautions you would when holidaying and I'm sure you will have a great time, I'm quite envious.

Happy holiday

Hi Susie,

There are 19 people booked on this date, which makes it a fully booked tour. I completely agree with Avocet in that you should think of it more as an adventure than a challenge.

Kindest Regards,

Monty

Hi Susie,

I went to Uzbekstan with a another travel company about 6 years ago. It was one of the best holidays I have been on. I was amazed that almost every hotel we stayed in had English plug sockets!! The food was fantastic and when buying souvenirs you got an awful lot for your money and the local people were lovely.

The toilets leave a lot to be desired (when not in the hotel) - but as Avocet said - it became one of the things that everyone bonded over, and one of the talking/laughing points. Just make sure you take with you some tissues and some hand gel and you will be fine.

You should also check out the thread "share your travel tips" - you will find a great thread posted by another travellers on Uzbekistan.

I hope you have an amazing time.
