Hi there

Just wanted to touch base with anyone else going on this fabulous trip in September. It sounds brilliant really looking forward to it. Be nice to hear from people that have done the trip as well

Here's hoping to hearing from some fellow travelers

Hello Jo,

I did this trip last year and it was superb, I will have to go back some day! I always thought the Grand Canyon was breathtaking, but several of the other parks are equally awe-inspiring in very different ways. With hindsight, on the final evening I would have walked round Las Vegas rather than being stuck in traffic in the coach and then trying to find a parking place. A minor point, everything else was really great. You will have a marvelous time!

Hi Jo,

I always said I would not make comments on here, however as no one else who is going on this trip as replied yet I have joined the Community. Looking forward to the holiday been to most of the places we are visiting it will be a wonderful trip. Been on 11 other Just You holidays, travelling down the day before stopping at the Thistle hotel. I posted yesterday but it didn't appear.

See you

Stuart

Hi Jo,

Did this trip a couple of years ago although our itinerary changed for the 2nd week as it was when the American Government shutdown resulting in the closure of the national parks

Mount Rushmore & Crazy Horse are amazing and I loved Yellowstone as we saw everything (Bears, Elk, Bison, etc).

Monument Valley was a must see for me as a western fan, loved it.

Its a great trip but you do cover a lot of miles so expect early starts, the 2 night stopovers are a godsend when they arrive.

We missed Bryce and Zion but fortunately I'd seen them on a previous holiday, lets just say some great photo opportunities.

Any specific questions please ask.

Mick

To all you guys that have done this before I was wondering what I should take clothes wise. I don't mean this in a 'girlie' way but the covers a vast area so would I need summer and winter clothes? Also is there a lot of walking involved so should I take my hiking boots?

Thanks in anticipation

Hi Jo. I did this tour this May...really full on! A brilliant time, I can't believe we saw so much in such a short time! Say hello to Elvis for me (a mule) if you do the ride in Zion!! ECB

Hi Jo, as the ladies will tell you - layers are the way to go! Bring a mixture of t shirts, shorts, long trousers and a few cardigans/jumpers etc. Shoes with a good grip will also come in handy. The weather should generally be good, with it being colder in Yellowstone and Bryce as they are so high up (perhaps between 10 and 18C). In some places such as Arches, Grand Canyon, Monument Valley and Vegas it will most probably be hot - 25C plus. We had some rain in Yellowstone but not elsewhere. Perpare for all eventualities - and bring some insect repellant, it might come in handy! (A few of us got a few bites, but nothing serious!)

All the best,

Bob

Hi Jo and Stuart

I'm on this holiday in September as well. I've been to the Grand Canyon with JY before but looking forward to the extended trip this time.

Tickets should be arriving soon, looking forward to meeting you at Heathrow.
