Hello

I wondered if someone can give some advice on money for the above destinations as all 3 use different currencies. I am happy to take all 3 but was not sure how much of each (approximately). Please can someone help with a rough guide?

It would be great to hear from anyone else booked please. I will be travelling from Heathrow - arriving there in the morning (very early of course!). Am excited and nervous all at once - as usual.

Any tips from previous visitors would be fantastic please. Please include where we can get the best Sachertorte and apple strudle! ;-)

Thank you so very much in advance, vina

Hi,

When I did this tour last year I just took Euros and Sterling. I changed small amounts of Euro at the hotel in Prague when I needed to, but I found most of the shops took Euros so just ask them if they'll take them. Both hotels (Prague and Budapest) exchanged currency at reception. I thought it best to have Euros as I usually go to Europe a few times a year so if I had any left I could either spend them then, or change them back to Sterling once back in the UK.

We found a lovely cake shop on the Main Street in Austria, but I couldn't tell you the name of it-sorry. It's best to have a wander around as there are plenty of nice cake shops to choose from.

Hope you have a lovely holiday.

Regards

Caroline

Dear Caroline, thank you so much for your reply - it's really appreciated. Euros sounds the way to go it seems, especially if they are flexible. Our holiday notes just state all 3 currencies but do not recommend how much or to take Euros, so your advice is great.

No worries regarding the cake shops - no doubt there'll be lots of choice and lots to stop at.

I hope you have a lovely holiday wherever you plan to go to.

All the best, vina

Hello,

I would confirm what Caroline said. I took all 3 currencies when I went 2 years ago and found everywhere accepted Euros, except the castle in Budapest and they had a change machine! Also, make sure you do not miss the Strudel Factory in Vienna - fresh out of the oven, delicious.

A really good holiday that I would like to do again.

David.

Hi there, sorry just logged on after many many days. Thank you David - I may take all 3 currencies too but still need to think how much of each! The strudel factory sounds great - very different from Sara Lee I bet! 😉

See you soon Karen - looking forward to meeting you, vina
