Is it just me, or does anyone else get that flash of panic just prior to booking a holiday that they are picking the wrong choice? It happens with me a lot, mainly when booking a holiday to a country i've already visited even though it's a different part?

Maybe i need to see a shrink!

Mark, I'm the opposite - I panic when I don't book a holiday!

Hi Mark,

That explains why you ask about so many different holidays!! I usually book with confidence and then afterwards I sometimes wonder should I have booked a different tour, especially when a new brochure comes out with an exciting new destination!!

One thing I would say, and this is just my own opinion, that there are so many different countries in the world, each with their own culture and sights to see, that I'm trying not to go back to countries I've already visited. There are too many new experiences awaiting me out there! I do have some favourite countries that I have loved visiting, such as Italy, and I hope to go back there when I'm older and have finished globe trotting!

Best wishes,

Bob

PS we could all do with seeing a shrink at times!

Well I seem to have spent so much time since I came back from Spain trying to decide where to go. I think I have got my choice and then I change my mind again.

Mark. Where ARE you going? 🙂

Very good Sally, made me laugh!

Cheers,

PS Mark, if you're feeling less than encouraged by these responses, go and book yourself a holiday and cheer yourself up!!

Mark, I'm with you on this... I usually book my main holiday for next year when I return from the current years holiday, ie I went in September this year and booked my holiday for next year in October... I always panic worried that I've made a mistake and should have held out a bit longer lol - what if a better holiday comes along etc etc. However because of my job I have to book my holidays prior to letting the others in the office book theirs and I also need time to save us as I am on a tight budget. That said, I've never been disappointed by a holiday destination yet.. although sometime the holiday has not lived up to expectations, but so is life...I think its only human nature to worry - especially as holidays for single people are a hefty investment...

That said, I wish I had thought up SallyC's response... it really made me laugh out loud.. 🙂

Hi Mark

I have no such problem. I pick a destination and just go ahead and book it with excitement. I love visiting new places and have a long list so my only problem sometimes is which one to choose first. I wonder if there is a name for such flashes of panic just before booking a holiday?!
