Hi

Anyone going on this tour? Apparently most of the excursions are bookable in the resort but no credit card facilities. Hope there are good ATMs as I believe there is a restriction on how much currency you can bring in. Anyone have any information on this?

Hi

Look under Reviews section and you will be able to get lots of information. Bob has posted a very comprehensive review on South Africa.

Hi

I went on this trip in 2011. It was absolutely fabulous, especially if you like photography and animals. There will be ATMs but be sure to go with at least one other person to keep an eye out. I got caught inside a shop full of people, including our group, but without somebody "guarding" me. I was lucky, the conman didn't actually get my PIN number but if he had, he'd already cloned my debit card by pretending to clean it for me so I had a couple of stressful hours ringing UK to cancel it and then had to rely on my credit card. I pride myself I'm not stupid but it was done so quickly, you can't be too careful. I would still do this holiday again. Enjoy yourself!

Thanks for the advice, especially about taking another person to the ATM with you.

Does any one know if they accept American dollars, are these easier to exchange? Or do you have to pay for all trips in the local currency?

Hi, I'm Lynne and will be the Tour Manager on this tour. There are restrictions on how much currency you can take into SA, however as someone mentioned, there are plenty of banks and ATMs available and I will advise you when we'll be near banks etc. Optional activities in SA do need to be paid in SA Rand only. US Dollars can be exchanged at banks or exchanges.

If you are doing the Zambia extension, the currency situation has changed (again!) quite recently and they have gone back to accepting US dollars, sterling, euros etc as well as the Zambian Kwacha. You will, however, still need to have some US dollars for the Zambian visa which you pay for on arrival. I am also able to take a credit card payment for the Zambian optional excursions too.

I hope this helps and I look forward to meeting you at Heathrow in a few weeks time.

Kind regards

Lynne
