I did this holiday in September 2012 and enjoyed it very much. Unlike Roger the Red I found it fairly hectic - no early starts but by the end of the week it wasn't just me feeling "If it's Tuesday it must be Brussels" and there was some debate about what we had seen or done when! We packed a lot in and I don't remember there being a free day in the programme.
On the way from the airport the Tour Manager told us that Feldkirch is a municipality of (I think) 5 villages around a central hub. The hotel is on a bus route which runs fairly regularly, at least during the day, and on one evening some of the party took a taxi into "town" for a night out. There is a branch of Lidl about 10 minutes' walk from the hotel (turn left on the main road in front of the hotel and the supermarket is up on the left-hand side) where most of our group headed regularly for water, beer, fruit etc.
I agree with Roger that it would be best to take Swiss Francs as well as euros. Switzerland is not in the EU and although some places (but not all) accept euros they will give the change in francs.
I'm not sure if the point has been covered elsewhere but do take a comfy pair of shoes as there is a lot of walking, climbing on and off boats, trains and cable car cabins - high heels and flip flops are definitely out during the day.
Have a lovely time.
