Hi everyone, I have recently joined this site well just today. I am 33 years young and am really trying to get through my bucket list as it is what I live for. I have been very fortunate throughout the years to travel to many places but as always there are simply to many amazing places out there.

I most recently went to Brazil for the carnival last year, and I am about to go on a 10 day tornado chasing tour (childhood dream) starting off in Oklahoma in May. I was looking for a site that helps us solo traveller's to not feel alone and give a confidence boost that the world really is our oyster. I have been glancing the tours on offer and have printed off 12 already. It covers so much of my bucket list absolutely amazing.

I was wondering what tours people would recommend. I am looking at the route 66, china with hong kong add on and Moscow at the moment but am really impressed at how many amazing places are available !!!

Happy travelling my fellow soloists

A warm welcome to you, and 33 years young what an adventure you have ahead for you then.

I am 55 and have been travelling with JY since 2006 and I have my 10 the tour booked, the world defiantly is your oyster, and we have one life so let's live it to full capacity.

As you will gather the age range is wide 20-80 and beyond. You would be in the younger bracket lucky you!

I do travel on my own but I have been lucky enough to meet a lady on a JY tour and we do travel on tours together sometimes as our tour interest are so similar.

What tours to recommend ...well that depends on what you like..have a look at the review section it might help you.

I have done the JY tours

Tuscany

Poland

Austria

magic of Kenya plus add on

Boston New England and New York

HGK and New Zealand

East Coast liner

Nashville and Memphis

Florida

I have Canada with NYC add on booked for this year

So if any of these interest you I can tell you more

this is a very safe way to travel ladies out number the men, all ages rub along together laughs along the way, great sights to see...

This is the best place for a bucket list. My first trip was Jordan and the Pyramids in 2010. Sadly this trip is no longer done due to the unrest. Petra early in the morning to watch the sun light up the Treasury, my first camel ride back to the Siq whilst others climbed up to the Monastery. I overheard Americans complaining about the Treasury- should have been there on time!

St Catherines Monastery on Sinai was spiritual, watching huge great ships coming out of the Suez Canal amazing.

Pyramids at Giza, Bent and Steps pyramids were spectacular. Best photo I have is one of our group painting at Giza with a policeman standing guard. 3 months later was the Arab uprising- so sad.

Lake Garda was Venice and a ride on a gondala, Aida at the Arena in Verona and first time in Italy.

Heart of Alpine Europe covered 3 new countries ( Germany was in 1981) , St Moritz, first time up a mountain at over 4,000 meters, all sorts of transport- loved it all.

Scotland and the Jacobite steam train, Glenfinnian Viaduct- great photo, Cullen skink and my all time bucket list ever since Highlander, Eilean Donan. First time in Scotland.

This year I have booked Route 61 in November. Memphis and New Orleans have already been ticked, Chicago is a whole new ball game

My bucket list is getting longer as I discover new places that other people have been too and infected me with their enthusiasm.

Where ever you go- enjoy :)

Jan.

Bella,

Love your attitude to travel, hope you one day complete that Bucket List.

I'm in double figures with JY holidays with four of them been tours in North America (Golden West, Parks & Canyons, Route 66 plus National Parks, Canyons, Mount Rushmore & LBH). All fantastic trips, very hectic but you see so much.

Like Jan I'm on Route 61 (Americas Heart & Soul) in November and as a Blues fan its definately one on my ever growing Bucket List. Only New Orleans is new to me, love Chicago my fav city and also visited St Louis & Memphis in the past. But its not just the advertised places on these trips its all the little places you visit onroute that makes the holiday special. What I like about this one is that the hotels are all in the City centres which is only right on a music route, makes it much easier to visit a few live clubs.

Lovely to hear from someone else who has the travel bug and you've certainly come to the right place for it. Of course many people enjoy holidaying on their own or with friends/family but once you've sampled a JY holiday you will realise how much fun it is travelling with a group of like minded people of all ages with varied life experiences. I started these holidays at 31 and twelve years later have notched up twenty holidays. As you say, there are so many exciting trips out there it is a challenge to pick which order to do them in. I would suggest for your first one pick a dream destination which will help with the inevitable first time nerves.

Best of luck with the tornadoes.
