🙂 Tried to book Costa de la Luz holiday in June but was fully booked so I am now going to Cilento Coast. This is my first single holiday with JY……very nervous but excited at the same time as this will my first holiday without my lovely husband by my side. I'm flying from Gatwick on 1st June, is anyone else going on that date.

It would lovely to hear about some of the trips on this holiday. Haven't book any of the optional excursions yet, I was wondering if it was too much to do if I want some relaxing time to myself, any advise want be helpful.

First of all I hope you have a great time. I adore the place. The included trips are very good, don't be put off by Salerno being a city, some amazing views from the port and the medieval part is very interesting. Paestum is more commercialised but if you are at all interested in history it's well worth the trip although I think they spend too long in the museum. Because I had been before I wandered off by myself last time and spent a lovely half hour by the church at a bar just people watching.

If you have not been to that part of Italy and the weather is good then Amalfi and Ravello is a MUST but it is very commercialised and very busy. I've done part of the Cilento inland trip although it had changed partly last trip and I didn't do it but the scenery inland is magnificent.

Certainly give yourself time to relax. Take plastic beach shoes for the hotels private beach, the water is super clean but a bit pebbly. The village of San Marco is very relaxing and the beach along to Santa Maria is wonderful. Santa Maria is a larger place with more shops etc.

Any more questions I am more than happy to help out.

I agree with Bosuncat (no change there then). It seems every holiday she does, i do it straight after haha.

Cilento Coast trips achieves a balance of being interesting with things to do however not too hectic. Cilento National Park was my favourite trip!

Hi, thanks for all the comments......can't wait to go on this holiday. I did the Rome, Sorrento, Amalfi Coast etc tour about 15 years ago and always said I would like to go back to Italy, so really looking forward to see some more of that coast line.

Bosuncat - thanks for the advise on packing plastic beach shoes, there on my holiday list.
