Hi Drayah,

I'm not in your age group (in my 50's) but have done quite a few JY holidays (10 so far) and from my experience only on 2 possibly 3 of those holidays I came across people below the age of 30. What I will say those younger people did mix well and had a great holiday and at times struggle to keep up with the crazy oldies.

In reality you are very likely to be the youngest in the group if you choose to do an holiday, only you can decide if that will put you off doing a holiday you really fancy..

I know there are a few JY travellers use the forum that are around your age, think some will comment on here and offer their thoughts.

You can also use the "Ask the Editor" part of the forum to ask Julia the age range of travellers already booked on specific holidays, that may help.

If you are concerned about age, I'm not sure that JY is the place for you. You may be better off with companies such as Solos who do age range specific holidays. The average customer of JY is 50's to 60's although most holidays include people aged 30's to 80's with an occasional 20's. I think it is one of the company's strong points that age is irrelevant, more often than not the older travellers are the ones getting up to mischief and staying up late. I started using Solos and Just You aged 31 and have had a lot of brilliant holidays with memories I will treasure for ever. So have a look at the different companies out there and good luck finding something for you.

Welcome I wish you well on your travels! at 27 you could be the youngest in the tour group but please do not let that put you off seeing the world. AGE is a number, some people are a great age and yet very young in mind and some people are younger and very old in mind.. I wish you well..

I would suggest if there is a tour you are interested in ring the office and the girls should be able to give you an idea of the ages of the people travelling. or post on the editors board on here and I am sure Julia would find out the information ..

Hi Drayah/AbbieMaryann,

I am 27 and i started using JY when i was 23/24. I have been on 4 trips now and planning a fifth to Russia. My advice is go for it. Essentially you are al there to have a gooid time, enjoy the sites, the food ect and age does generally become just a number. You find a lot of the people older than you are just as up for a laugh and just as active.

Any questions, let me know!

Hi

My thinking is if you get on with people of all ages then you should not have any problems travelling with Just You. If you tend to stick with people of your own age, in my opinion you lose out a lot. It is nice to be with people of all ages and experience. As already mentioned, Age is just a number. It does not make you young or old. I have come across young people who behave like very old people and old people who behave like young ones!

Hi Drayah, I am in my middle 60's and have just booked my 9th holiday with JY, and I have enjoyed everyone of them, and met some lovely people of all ages, and whilst agreeing with much that has been said about age being just a number,

in my honest opinion........

The client age group of JY is mostly from 50 yrs upwards, and it would really have not been young enough for me had I still been in my 20's, I therefore suggest as somebody else has already done, that you perhaps look at Solo holidays which has some defined age groups.

Hi Abbie,

You'll be fine - lots to do and loads of new people to meet. I'm also booked on this trip - have travelled with Just You before and had a wonderful time. I'm flying down from Manchester so see at Heathrow. Sue
