I wonder if anyone out there can help me. I am hoping to travel to New Zealand and /or New England with JY in the near future. However, walking can be a bit difficult at times. I managed South Africa last year - just. Has anyone been to SA and either NZ/NE and can tell me whether the walking levels are similar. If they are, I'm ok, if either needs more walking than in South Africa, I need to think carefully.

Many thanks in hopeful expectation!

Hi Lapwing

I've been to SA (2012) and NZ (2010). In NZ there was a lot of free time to explore the numerous towns and the trips to the Waitomo caves and Whakarewarewa Thermal Reserve which could cause you difficulty. And of course in NZ we had to buy dinner most nights either in the hotel or walk to a restaurant. I don't recall doing a lot of walking in SA and it was half board.

I don't know how mobile you are and whether the NZ trip has changed much since 2010 but it could be difficult for you. I suggest you discuss with JY advisers.

Regards

Sylvia
