Hi there

Im new to the site and thinking of booking my first just you holiday. I was wondering if there is an average age of travellers who go on these holidays. I am 38 and was wondering if there is likely to be other people around my age or is it mainly older travellers?

regards

Ruth

Hello, Ruth

This subject comes up quite often. If you go onto "Search" (top right hand corner of this site) and enter "age" into the keyword box and tick on the "Say hello to other single travellers" you will find a whole host of threads where this was debated. I think you will find that the common reply is that age doesn't matter.

Good luck with booking your holiday.

Hi Ruth,

This question is a regular and you'll find a post dealing with it in the "share your tips" section of the forum.

http://www.justyou.co.uk/forum/thread-51972.html

From what i've seen the majority of travellers are 50+ but there are younger, been on trips with people in their 20's.

The replies above are generally what I've found but it hasn't personally put me off

I'm 24 and realise that with how like minded people are age is just a number 😉 you've all picked the same holiday so theres at least that in common.

I'll be 25 when I go on my first trip and have no doubt I'd be the youngest. Not necessarily the fittest though!

Age is just a number you can be young and act old or be old and act young....

I have my 9th tour booked I am 54 started using JY in 2006

yes you might be in the younger age range but the group do mix in so well, I have spent many an hour with much older than me and also younger than me..

I hope you give it a go...if you have a tour in mind you could ring the phone number and the girls might be able to give you an age range of who is going or ask the question on the editors board on here.

Thanks everyone for your replies and info. I'm happy to hear that there's a wide range of ages that go on the tours. As long as everyone is friendly and happy to mix with others then I guess age is unimportant. Im thinking of booking Andalucia in August. It'll be my first time going on holiday alone so i'm a bit apprehensive but also looking forward to it 🙂

I went to Andalucía last year, and the ages ranged from 30 to 85 - I am somewhere in between (not telling). It really doesn`t matter, that is just one of the reasons I like JY.

Hi Again,

Andalucia is a great choice did it 3 years ago and its a lovely area. The excurrsions on that holiday are really good and well worth doing.

Think August gives you a good chance of a few more younger people aswell because your almost certain to get a few teachers at that time of year (school hols).

What did you think of the Andalucia holiday Margaret? Would you recommend it?

Hi Ruth,

Andalucía, last year, was my first JY holiday and also my first holiday alone, so I was a little apprehensive. However, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The excursions were interesting, scenery beautiful, especially going up to Rhonda, and Mijas is a lovely little town. I didn`t care much for Fuengirola but you can`t win them all. I believe it is a different hotel this year, so I can`t comment on that. On 5th May I am off to Cilento Coast in Italy, no stopping me now. Good luck with whatever you choose, you won`t regret it.

Hi Ruth

I thoroughly recommend Andalucia. It is a lovely part of Spain and I am sure you will have a great time. I went there in September 2010.
