Hi I went on a solos holiday and we were looked after extremely well tho at times I did feel a little lost but thats probably because I am quite shy. I did find it was more like a dating holiday though and this time I think I'd like to get away from that.. Just a week away chatting and relaxing with other singles of all ages sounds great.. (I am 47 and closest friends are 63 and 23) so its not age it is personality that makes a great friend. Is there more info on the holidays on here? Solos does have a lot and a chance to meet up at the airport if you wish too. And chance to chat online. kinda presuming this is the same but have only just logged on so havent explored. hope this helps.. julie[/font][/b]

I have been looking around for a singles holiday and like the feel of just you, but have also been looking at a company called Solos holidays, they seem to have some very good prices in comparison. But experience tells me cheap is not always best, has anyone any experience of Solos holidays, should I avoid them?

Hi Julie. I think you would get on just fine with Just You. I have only done one JY holiday but everyone mixed very well regardless of age. A few of us did meet at the airport although not intentionally. We recognised eachother through the luggage labels! But it meant we had already become friends before we even boarded the plane.

JC - Yes i think we're all suffering from cash flow problems in January! Hopefully you'll be sorted next month. No I haven't prebooked any trips yet. There will be an option to prepay some of them when the final documents arrive. I think most of them can be paid in the resort, but JY usually offer a package of trips which can be prepaid and save a wee bit of cash, but only worth doing if you would have done those trips anyway. I want to have a couple of free days to explore Rabac so I won't be doing all the excursions.

Spending too much time on these Forums due to snowy weather and activities being cancelled. Out of curiousity, I compared some Solos holidays to Just You, and found that in each case Solos was more expensive - sometimes quite a considerable amount. However I see that others agree that Solos is cheaper. I have only done one Just You holiday (Eastern Canada) four years ago which was great. Booked a holiday last year but had to cancel due to bad health. I hope to rebook this year once I get the ok from doctor and health insurance company.

Nice to dream about some sunny, warm weather isn't it?

Hi Rose

Yes, it is certainly nice to dream about sunny, warm weather. I sincerley hope that you will be able to travel soon. I too had to cancel my two holidays booked for this year due to health problems, but am positive that I will be able to rebook them both soon. I have never compared Just You holidays with other companies as I have had very good experience of travelling with Just You and do not wish to travel with other companies for the sake of saving a few £s. For me Just You is a good company for those who wish to holiday on their own and they do take good care of you.

Do let us know which holiday you book.

Regards

Jaya

Jaya: I have read your posts and do wish you all the best with your treatment and a good, speedy recovery.

I hope to see that you have booked some more holidays in the not too distant future. As I said I found that Solos was more expensive than Just U although it is difficult to compare.

I hope to rebook my trip this year - luckily my problem was not as serious as yours and was an injury which will heal in time. Good luck to you.

hi, i have travelled with solos many times before and i had fantastic time in each case, i have now booked my first holiday with just you and i am hoping for the same. both companies are very similar, and i feel its a matter of personal opinion and who you actually end up on holidays with (fellow travellers) not the company who organises it, makes for a truly unforgettable experience.
