Hi

I've just joined today because my new years resolution is to travel more next year (and get out of the office).

It's quite a scarey thought travelling alone, so if there is anyone who would be so kind as to tell me of their experiences, i would appreciate some positive feed back from those who have been brave enough to take the step so far.

Look forward to hearing form you

Julie 🙂

Hello Julie and a warm welcome to you....

I was brave enough to travel with JY in Sept. 2006 and I now have my 9th tour booked for 2013...so go for it...

My 1st tour was USA, and I have been on 2 others USA now, I have done short haul tours to Poland, Austria, and Tuscanny. I have also been to Hong Kong and New Zealand tour this January, and I have been on the magic of Kenya....so if any of those appeals to you then pick my brains for more information.

It's a very safe way to travel for ladies.....ladies out number the MEN!!.. All ages from 20's - 80's and all in between I am 54....

It's a big world out there go any explore it ....

Good luck

Cindy

Good for you! JY is a a very good company to use if you want to see a bit of the world & are on your own.

I've done about 10 of these holidays, and have never been disappointed!

Choose a destination that appeals to you.

Age ranges have varied. Youngest has been 21 and oldest been in later 70's. Majority of ages has been early 40's up but age has never been an issue. Women tend to out number the men. Group sizes - smallest has been 7 and largest has been 40.

Happy travelling

Anna

Hi Julie

I started with Travelsphere in 1994 changed to Just You have been on over 30 trips. Always had a good holiday and friendly helpful group. Always had a good tour manager who looked after us they were also helpful and friendly and always on hand if you needed them. At start of holiday everyone is in same boat , but straight away everyone mixes. You always have company went you want it and can have time by yourself if you want.

hope this helps

I have been on one trip, venice cruise, and enjoyed it, so have now booked iceland new year trip. I found everybody friendly and the guide was excellent, Food was very good and the standard of accomadation on board ship was not to be faulted, clean and comfortable.

Don't worry about travelling alone because you won't be, everybody seems to be in the same situation on day one, I found after the flight and you meet your travel guide and fellow travellers all the worry of will I be alone or is the group to old or young disappears and the holiday begins.

Unlike travelling with friends or family the finding out about people around you adds to the holiday.

I know I am judging this on one holiday, but I found the JY experience

to be a positive, new friends, new places and even thou I was probably the youngest on my trip and one of the few men it works for me, and I had never been on a group holiday before, always booking everything myself. So don't delay just book the holiday you fancy and enjoy.

Hello again

Many thanks for replying,

i feel that i've made the first step forward already with everyone being so kind with their replies, it's very encouraging.

i do feel that i need someone to hold my hand on the first trip but its just nerves i guess.

Poland will be my first adventure. I'm very interested in history and a trip to Auschwitz would also be on my agenda. So once again if anyone has been there i would be grateful for some advice about places to visit whilst there.

Julie 🙂

Hi Julie,

Although I am a man this was my first Just You trip and I wanted to go to one destination in particular, namely New Zealand. I combined this with Singapore and Australia making it a long trip.

In Singapore we did not have an actual Tour manager with us the local rep was very good. We met our tour manager at Singapore airport who was leading a group of Just you directly from the UK to Australia. Another tour manager was in New Zealand and had indeed flown out with her group via Hong Kong, again from the UK.

Just trying to give you a picture that you would not be on your own for long with allocated tour managers to guide you along with fellow travellers to tag along with or if preffered do your own thing.

I am sure you will enjoy yourself on any JY holiday.

Best Wishes

Eric.

I went on the Poland trip few years ago, because a tour to the concentration camps was part of this trip I had always wanted to visit this horrific place to pay my respects...not every body on the tour went to visit, some found it not in their comfort zone.

I am very glad I went.

I am also very interested in visiting Auschwich and hopefully will get a chance to go on Poland trip. My first experience of the holocaust was when I visited the memorial in Israel. It was so moving, especially the children's memorial. Again, not everyone on the tour visited but I am glad I decided to. It was a very moving experience which brought tears to my eyes.

Hi

I have to say that I feel very encouraged aleady by the members who have replied so far, its very reassuring. I love history, the reason why I would like to visit Auchwitz, however, poland looks equally fasinating to. I've been fortunate to travel the west coast of AmerIca and visit places like Alcatraz and the grand canyon, to name but a few, but now I have the travel bug and I'd like to see abit more of the big wide world. Sounds like you've had a fabulous

Time to.
