I am going on the Breathtaking New Zealand trip starting 8 Feb 2013 - anyone else out there booked on this trip? Would like to make contact to share ideas before we go.

Also doing the Cook Islands add on - anyone else?

I think I have already spoken to you in another part of the thread but in case not (a bit technophobic!) Any ideas on the amount of spending money to take? Other info has been most helpful but still no one on the same trip has made contact

Don't worry jennie there will be others on the tour, you would be surprised how few people use these information boards.

Well, I took a lot of money if I am honest. As I am not sure how you can pay for the added bits like the helicopters etc when I went it had to be all in cash, I wanted to do it all so took all the optional money in cash as well as spending money. I would say I was only able to do the 1 helicopter flight Franz Joseph due to the others not being viable due to weather conditions up in the sky not on the ground so disappointing on that side of things so I actually ending up bring lots of money back home.

Ok other money, all breakfasts are provided and a couple of meals so allow for a meal and perhaps a snack a day. I choose to eat most meals in the hotels if they had a decent restaurant mainly from a time view if you had been out all day and there was an early start I did not want to spend hours trawling around trying to find food!!!...

Quite often the lunch would be en route to the next place to visit so you are looking at a motor side cafe set of thing. Some are better than others, so it pays sometimes to stock up on drinks or snacks if your in a good market place.

I do not go in for buying lots of tourist STUFF I did buy some local stone earrings and some of the sheepskins pruducts slippers gloves.

I took as much money as I could in cash. I. Also too a credit card (do let the company know your going away) I only used the credit Card in HKG as we were not told about extra trips out before we went so there were a couple in HKG I has not budgeted for so used card for them.

I am not sure if this helps you ??

You will have a great time

Hi Jennie - I'm booked on the NZ trip in February - and am alternating between excitement and nervousness. (I have been to Italy with Just You previously which was a great holiday). I am not doing Cook Islands add on but am flying back to Auckland to spend a week with relatives before coming back to UK.

I have already started fretting about what to pack .......................
