Just upgraded my suitcase to a more lightweight version as dont want to hospitalise any fellow travellers as i drag it off the conveyer belt !

Most people that I have met on these trips tend to be in the same boat. I also find that we all seem to gell well. I am fed up with this rain and am looking very much forward to our trip. 97 degrees have been the temperatures at the moment which will be the same climate in September hopefully. I like to take my whole wardrobe with me on holiday but, like you have invested in a light case and will try to keep to the limit! By the way don't forget to keep a £10 note with you as I think that you will need it for the VISA at immigration. I'll check on that with Ben. Looking forward to seeing you all. Mel

I am going to take Turkish lira - I will order a few weeks beforehand. I'm not sure about changing pounds into euros and then into lira. It strikes me you will lose on the exchange rate. After that I think I will just take cash out of the wall, assuming I can find a wall:dodgy:

May I suggest you just take Euros to Kusadasi. I went in May armed with T L and found nearly everything marked in Euros. They take any money, but we felt it would have made things much easier to just have Euros. Also if you offer TL they seem to add a bit on to the exchange from Euros.

I was just about to say see Caho's previous post and she beat me to it. I think I will take Euros because I will be going to France next year and reuse any Euros (unlikely I may add) there. Ben said that you should exchange sterling for TL over in Turkey. Better exchange rate. 104 degrees today. Not here but there.Turkey in September is becoming very attractive. See you then. Mel

My friend Celia and I ( we met on previous Just you holiday) will probably stay there as well, will let you know if we booked. Are you driving to the hotel and parking at the airport? Carol.

I am going early Monday morning on National Express coach (just you have favourable rates £36 return). Checking on that at the mo. I am then changing at Heathrow and then on to Stansted. Then there is a shuttle to the hotel. Hotel costs £50 a night with breakfast included. There, now that tells everyone my travel itinerary!. It would be good to meet you both before the trip proper. Hi June - I am so glad you managed to get on a flight. I guess we will meet up eventually then. I am flying into Gatwick on 7th August to see my dear old mom for a few days and then driving down to Stansted on 11th. On the way back however, I can't get out of Stansted on 18th so I am going to spend the night at a hotel near Gatwick and fly back to Geneva on 19th. Complicated stuff but I'm sure it will be worth it. See you soon then. Anna
