Hi to everyone on the Just You forums. This is my first post and thought I'd use it to take the opportunity to introduce myself to the community, and to ask a question that has probably been asked before.

My Name is Tommy and I come from Paisley in Scotland, a mere 10 minutes from Glasgow airport. Recent circumstances have left me single for the first time in 31 years, and as all my friends are attached it has left me with a dilemma regards going on holiday. I'm sure most people on here will have a similar tale to tell so this should be a good place for advice.

Do all Just You holidays leave from English airports? Obviously this would require me to travel to one of them first before I could take advantage of the holidays on offer, which would be a bit of a pain and also an extra expense.

I couldn't seem to find any companies that specialise in single holidays that have provision for flights from Scotland. Unless someone can tell me otherwise of course?

Hi

I am from Motherwell and have done two trips with JU with a third booked for October to India. There are some holidays-mainly in Europe-where you can fly from Glasgow. I wanted to do more "long haul" trips-China and USA_ and did not mind flight to Heathrow. JU can arrange this for

you.

Hope you find this helpful

Hi Mister T & Lesley

I am also from Motherwell and have flown 4 times from Glasgow to Both Heathrow & Gatwick Airports, When I was going on European trips to Austria & Bulgaria. Just You arranged connecting flights at very cheap rates with very little waiting time between flights. Also they can arrange direct flights to some holiday destiantions from Glasgow. Best check with Olly or give them a call

Welcome to Just You

Happy travelling

Andy

Hi Tommy

I'm from Glasgow and I did my first JY holiday last month. I went to Italy and the flight was via Gatwick. However JY arranged a connecting flight for me for £89. Both connecting flight and main flight were with British Airways so I was able to check my luggage straight through from Glasgow. Also I was able to meet up with my fellow travellers at Gatwick and we all arrived in Italy together. At the moment the only flights direct from Glasgow seem to be Costa de la Luz, and Highlights of Peru.

For the record, I had a great holiday and would recommend JY without hesitation. Go on, just book it.....

Hi, I am from Wales and have exactly the same problem. Travelling to Heathrow or Gatwick is a pain! Because singles holiday companies are few and far between...what can you do?? It's not so bad if your going long haul then it seems more worthwhile. Now I travel to the airport the day before I go, stay in a hotel and make it part of the holiday.

Hi Tommy

I come from the north of Inverness so can understand how you feel, but being from up here usually means travelling to Glasgow which is 4hrs away, so Jy holidays suit me fine as i can fly from Inverness to Gatwick and start my hol from there, it does add more expense to holiday and does sometimes require an overnight stay but well worth the effort JY hols are brill , i'm going on my 3rd in september.

Take the plunge you wont regret it.

Hi Tommy, I'm in Dumfries.

Now that is awkward - do I travel north to Glasgow airport, south to Manchester, or take the train to either Gatwick or Heathrow? Actually, I've done 'em all! It's a hassle, but it's worth it, the holidays are great.

I'm off to Andalucia a fortnight tomorrow, train to Gatwick on this occasion, but last time I flew from Glasgow. All depends on my plans at either end, if I'm going to travel to London, I like to make the most of it.

Take the plunge, you won't regret it.
