Hi there

I have just come back and also did this as my first solo trip. It was a fantastic holiday and had a good mixed group. I am sure you will enjoy and someone else will confirm they are going on the same one with you...enjoy!

Hello Cindy

After looking at some comments about the all inclusive part am beginning to wish I hadnt booked that (although i have been told i can cancel that bit and get a refund at any time) On your trip how many did the beach add on and did anyone do the all inclusive? :)

Hi there

Hope you dont mind me asking, when you say you had a good mixed group would that be all ages and equal sexes? I myself am female aged 49, am I likely to fit in ok? :shy:

I don't think when I went the ALL INCL was an option, we were all in the one side.. it it like 2 blocks joined together 1 half all incl and 1 half half board. I am not sure how much more you are paying for the all incl. but I did not spend much at all being half board more often than not it was so hot and if you eat a big breaky you don't really need lunch to be honest and the drinks are not a rip off price. So see what you think. I think it is worth while doing the add on, it sure was nice to chill out and just relax in the sunshine.

You will be fine at 49 so don't panic, its a great holiday and very worth doing.

Hi

I have also just booked on this trip for November, Im not doing the extra add on and decided not to bother with the all inclusive after reading peoples comments on here that it wasn't necessary. It is my first ever solo holiday, very excited but also a bit nervous of what to expeck. Im a 35 year old female, I was also worried about others ages etc, but have just decided to go for it and hopefully meet a great group of people.

I've heard that there will not be a lounge for us in terminal 4 at Heathrow. Im trying not to let this be a problem, but Im not looking forward to maybe being at the airport alone. Hopefully I will spot those JY labels on other peoples luggage!!

You could try this when you get to the airport and see the JY rep at check in to see you through booking in, why don't you have a word with that person and see if you can hang around till another JY person books in and then go through together to departures, it might be worth a try.

It would be nice if we could all arrange a meeting point at the hotel. As a first time solo traveller it would great to able to meet up with everyone to settle the nerves a bit.

As its a late flight I'm not staying in a hotel overnight but travelling down that day. Perhaps we can arrange to all meet pre check in at somewhere suitable so we can all sit together on the plane. That was the only problem with flight to Australia we were all separated on the flight due to checking in at different times.

Sounds like a plan. Do you have any suggestions? I have never been to heathrow so I am not familiar. Sorry about the hotel thing meant to type airport, mind must have been somewhere else.

[Hello

I did the Kenya trip and the safari was great but I booked the add on but then cancelled it, which I am glad I did as its long enough stay at the beach part without the add on and the tour guide comes back at the normal time. There were only 3 who stayed and I think they wished they had come back with the rest of us.

Hi

I went to Kenya as my first trip this year and was the first one there but I just wondered around and after about 10 minutes I saw someone else with the same tags so we had a sit down and a drink and soon someone else walked by so I grabbed them as well. I was very nervous so if I can do it anyone can!!

Might be nice to meet before we go through check in as there is no lounge and no rep travelling with us, we could all check in together and be sat near each other. Last time when I went to Australia we were all over the plane.

Looking at a Map of Terminal 4 at Heathrow there is a Cafe Nero right by the entrance. I shall probably hang out there anyway as my coach gets me in at 1 pm and I wont be able to check in then. Happy to meet anyone else there and hang out together till we check in and then we can always find other JY travellers the other side of check in.

Hi

Im on this trip, i've just recieved all my final details and tickets. Im very excited but also nervous about being able to find others at the airport. I would be happy to meet others at Cafe Nero. I dont plan on getting to the airport until about 2pm / 3pm. What time do thers think they will arrive.

Also can others advice whether they are taking two seperate pieces of luggage?

I would also appreciate advice about what happens with your other piece of luggage that is not going to the safari part with you? Also from others that have been on this trip, how much spending money do you recommend is needed, how expensive is it in Kenya? Also what is the best way to go about paying for excursions? Credit card?

Thanks for any advice. Only two and half weeks to go!
