Merseyrail goes to South Parkway, which is near the airport, from Lime street Station. Just ask at the station. near There is a hotel on site with parking right outside the terminal.

Hi Maggie

A lot of the "main line" trains stop at L/p South Parkway as well, for example trains from Runcorn and Crewe.

I think there is a shuttle bus from the train station to the airport, if you google "Liverpool South Parkway" I'm sure you'll find it.

There are several airport hotels as Don says. There is a new Holiday Inn just by the airport entrance. Not stayed in it though so can't comment on facilities etc.

Liverpool is a small airport so there is no problem at all finding your way around, plenty of places to eat as well if needed. You should have no problem.

Hi there are two options

Option one : train to Lime st station then taxi directly to Liverpool airport (cost of about £8 or thereabouts except after midnight). Or from Lime st station I see from another post you can get another train to South Parkway (I don't know about this)

Option 2: some trains come directly to South Parkway station, I know they do from Crewe but you can check on the South Park way web site to see from where else.

And from there you can get a shuttle bus directly to the airport. This station is nearer to the airport.

There is a new hotel nearby the airport. I don't know what it is like but I suppose it's a good basic one and I image they should have a shuttle bus to the airport. If not a taxi from the hotel to the airport would not cost much.

Hope this has been of some help to you.

Kind regards Suzy from Liverpool

My flight to Barcelona has been "moved" from Manchester to Liverpool no reason given !!

The choice was to go from there or from Manchester down to Heathrow then to Barca. The third choice was to cancel but I would lose my deposit approx £200.

I therefore have to fly from Liverpool and although I have flown from there previously a couple of times it is an extra 30 mile round trip and I am not being compensated for this. Why advertise Manchester flights if it's uncertain they operate?

You can get the airport bus direct to there from Central Liverpool or as I say it's about 15 miles drive off J12 of M56.
