Hi Morrisonfan,

Oooooh Errrr - no contest!

Definitely got to be Route 66! I know it may be colder in Chicago in April - just buy a vest!

No. seriously, Route 66 is so iconic and as one of the folk who campaigned for this to be included this year I am sure you will have a good time. The May date has been filled already, so we can't all be wrong. Besides it is slowly disappearing - go while you still can.

I don't got until September - so I have much longer to wait. I hope you make a choice that suits you though - after all it is your holiday.

Have a great time whichever you choose.

Be happy,

Best wishes,

Lesley

Whichever you choose will be a right decision.

Hi the Golden West is a wonderful holiday, even better if you have Ann Murray as your tour manager. San Francisco was brilliant - so atmospheric with the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, the cable cars, Chinatown and brilliant views. Lovely drive along Highway 101 down the coast. Santa Barbara and Long Beach two great stop off points and Palm Springs has great character. It was great to see Hollywood and other iconic areas in LA. As for Vegas - I didn't think I would like it, but I absoultely loved it! The variety and originality in the different hotels was incredible and of course, to top it all, the Grand Canyon was breath-taking.

Unlike many others Route 66 does not appeal much to me, apart from the beginning and end - Chicago and LA. So I'd say go for the Golden West, but have a brilliant holiday whatever you decide!

best wishes,

Bob

i did Golden West in May this year and can't recommend it highly enough as a first Just You trip, will be waiting to see the feedback from those doing Route 66 this year, like Bob this doesn't really appeal to me.

On the Golden West trip i said to one of my fellow travellers what a great trip it was and i was a bit surprised when she was not that impressed until she added that the previous years she'd done parks and canyons and every day was a 'WOW' so guess where i'm going next year 🙂

I've got American friends in Scottsdale, AZ & I asked them the same question. They are well travelled & said MOST DEFINITELY the Golden West. I know on both holidays there is loads of coaching, but the scenery is more exciting on the Golden West.

Just another opinion to add to the others!
