Hello

I have recently become a widow, not wanting to stay at home for hoildays, I did not think I could go away on my own, I went on the Norweign Epic ( which is the only cruise ship with single cabins) I met a lady who told me to go with this company as she has had some really good holidays and met some great people. Would like to go to Turkey (or any where hot) in the summer, is there any one else going

Welcome to you, I am sorry to hear you have recentley been widowed, on these posting board you will see interview with Cindy Nixon if you click on that you will hear me talking about my thoughts on Just You, it might or might not help you.

I have not nor am I going on the Turkey holiday, I have done 7 JY tours in 5 years with my 8th booked. Every body does mix in very well, great holidays to be had and a chance to meet a good bunch of people. Ladies always outnumber the Men. Core age group 55-70 with younger and older as well. If you have any questions just ask away and someone I am sure will be able to help you.

Good Luck

Cindy

Hi,

Welcome to Just You. I went on my first JY trip in August and really enjoyed it. All the people on the trip were great, really easy to get on with and I made some new friends. Booked my next trip within a month of returning from my first holiday - going to the National Parks and Canyons and Little Bighorn next year and really looking forward to it. The lady you met on the cruise ship was right, you do have some good holidays and meet great people. So if you fancy going to Turkey, just book it - you won't look back. Good luck. Elaine

Just book it you wont regret it.

There will be someone else going, JY don't run unless a reasonable number (unlike some companies) so you wont be alone.

Hi Marina (?) sorry not sure if I have your name right,

Welcome to Just You.

Yes, you have made the right decision to 'give Just You a go' - this is where you start to enjoy yourself again. I know how you feel - been there - but just because you no longer have your husband does not mean you cannot enjoy a holiday again. It will just be a different type of holiday.

So choose somewhere you would really like to go - and book it. Yes, you will meet some new friends of all ages (depending on your holiday choice) but you will be safe, your tour manager will take really good care of you and make sure you are included in everything, and of course you will have your own room.

As Elaine says, once you have been on holiday you will be keen to go somewhere else. It is very addictive you know.

After you have booked your trip, if you put a post on here you will probably get a response from someone else off that trip - but don't be put off if you do not get a response immediately as not everyone uses the Community site. It does not mean that you will be going alone.

Have a fantastic holiday - let us know where you choose.

Be happy,

Best wishes,

Lesley

Hi Frankath,

Actually you know you will not be taking your first holiday 'alone' because you will be going with a lot of newly-found Just You friends.

You say you fancy Italy - I went to Sorrento in September and can recommend that ( I had only been to the Dolomites at Xmas before). I had always wanted to do the Amalfi Drive - and it was all I had hoped it would be. There is so much to see on this holiday but I know that also applies to some of the other Italian trips.

Otherwise, there are a lot of other 'warm' holidays to choose from. I am sure if you ask on this site others will give you feedback on those. Take a look and go for somewhere you really fancy - then book it. You will not look back.

I hope you have a fantastic holiday - hopefully the first of many.

Be happy,

Best wishes,
