Ladies usually outnumber men between 2 to 1 and 3 to 1 from what I've seen.

Do not worry about age. I am doing 2 holidays next year, Andalucia and China and I am also 70+. Sheer coincidence but my birthsign is wait for it...................................GEMINI.

You will have a great time whatever holiday you choose. You will never feel left out of the group because of your age. Your Tour Manager will look after you very well.

All you have to do is book and go and ENJOY.

Welcome to you, you will fit in fine, main age 55-70 with younger and older both sides. I am 52 and have done 7 JY tours, I am amazed at how fit the oldies are, where as I might be a younger one, but I am not as fit as many off the travellers. Always many more Ladies then Men. The groups always great on well and all mix intogether and help one another if need be.

I have to admit that it did put me off at first but you will meet some smashing people of all ages. Age difference is never a problem because everyone mixes and the tour manager takes great care of you making sure you are included. It is safe for you (important for a woman) and you will have a good time.

So, pick somewhere you fancy and go for it. I promise you will never look back. I hope this is the first of many happy holidays for you.

I'm 73 and have just returned from the Cilento Coast and have booked for The Wonder of China next September. It will be my eighth trip with Just You. I've been on three long haul ones (America) and I have never been the oldest! One one American trip the oldest was 85 and the youngest 23, so believe me age does not matter!!

Firstly, you are right - they are professional models. I have pointed this out to Just You because some people find it a bit offputting (as I did) - they are what I call the 'beautiful people' and so I expected the people on my first trip to be like that. That is not the case of course and also as you say there are all ages on the trips.

Secondly, you say you are doing the China trip next September. You are going to love it - believe me you are in for a real treat. I did it in March and it was all I hoped it would be. Sorry I can't join you but I am doing Route 66 then (gotta get my kicks). So have a great trip - I know you will

I have no problem travelling alone as I've done it for 10+ years on truly alone holidays I've bespoke-built myself to western destinations. However now that I want to visit some of the more exotic destinations where I don't know the lay of the land and so a formal escorted tour is the only realistic way to go - I did not want to travel on a tour that is predominantly aimed at a senior age group either as there would be very little in common between us.

I'm at that awkward age that I can no longer put up with the clubbing and drinking culture, and immaturity associated with a sub-30-35 targeted holiday, but neither am I ready for a Saga holiday either. Maybe it's the male version of the 'change' kicking in. :-)

Oh, and I don't dance and have no interest in learning to dance so those discovery weekends were of no interest to me as they all mention that as an attraction, which to me is a disattraction.
