Hi Mary, only 6 weeks to go and like you i'm apprehensive! Unike you though I haven't done a lot to get ready as i've just had 3 weeks poorly. Struggling to know what clothes to take and what to travel in as I assume we should be in light colours because of the journey to the lodge. I am used to packing everything in one case within a certain weight so it will be a challenge to get things in the right bag lol !! Please let me know if you've picked up any good tips!

Will see you at Heathrow on 28th Sept.

Hi Debs

sorry to hear that you have not been well but at least its out of the way before you go to Kenya...

I have had my jabs now but on making enquiries today have decided to go for the yellow fever jab too just to be on the safe side.

From reading posts on this site it seems that we need 2 sets of luggage, one to go to the lodge with us and the other goes directly to the hotel for after the safari trip.

I am going to get a holdall for the safari and a case for the hotel .

It is difficult knowing what to pack and I expect i will do my usual trick of taking far too much but I am trying to be sensible....

Mary .

Hi,

I will be on this trip as well, but not doing the costal extension, this will be my 3rd Just You holiday, would appreciate advice on injections etc, having read that where we are is not a yellow fever affected area, I also read on another post that our main case leaves us at the airport and goes to the hotel in mombasa and we just take an overnight type bag on the safari part?

Just getting all the stuff together, payment sent today, can't wait.

Regards,

Martin

Hi Martin .

Not long now until the trip to Kenya... Really looking forward to it but a little apprehensive as I have never been away on my own before.. with regards to the injections I did decide in the end to get the Yellow Fever jab just to be on the safe side.... dont think its worth taking the risk ..

I too have read that its better to take 2 sets of luggage so thats what I intend to do ...

Like you I havent booked the extension as I am not really a beach holiday type of a person .... hope its not a decision I will regret lol !!

See you at Heathrow !!

Just remember that you only take the holdall to the safari the other case goes to the other hotel ..so remember to pack your torch camera, video, and charges or batteries in the holdall case. I light weight back pack or bag is good for or the safaris to keep all your things in when you got out on the safari days...

Take plenty of wet wipes, hand cleaning gel, tissues and water when your on safari you must drink water etc or you can suffer with headaches through dehydration.

You will have a great time on this tour I know I did.
