Well I am in the proces of deciding which date to go but I am going to book to go on the holiday of my dreams National Parks, Canyons & Little Big Horn, always wanted to go never had the nerve, money to do so. So USA here I come, but any hints and or tips from previous travellers would be welcome and appreciated.

What did you eat and where?

How much did you spend on average for a meal?

Did you take travellers cheques or credit card? I imagine you took some dollars as well.

Which trips you took would you recommend? and alternatively which did you not take but wish you had?

I am getting excited just typing out this post...............Little tips appreciated.

From a nervous yet excited prospective traveller.

Hi Kazz,

I haven't done this holiday but its one I'll do in the future. I've actually opted for the shorter Parks & Canyons trip in June. Did Americas Golden West last year and one of the others on that trip had done the hol you are doing and really enjoyed it.

I have been to America many times (17 different cities so far) and one thing I wouldn't worry about is where to eat, everywhere sells food. Americans eat out a lot from what I see.

With the current exchange rate food will be similar prices to here but remember they expect tipping for everything but chec your bills because the service chrge may already be on it.

I would take dollars rather than travellers cheques, for one thing it makes tipping easier but also a lot of places don't take travellers cheques. Credit Cards are fine you'll have no problem with them.

Another tip when shopping the price isn't whats advertised, they add the local tax later so its always a bit more expensive than you think.
